The Megadyne Group is an international manufacturer of power
transmission and product handling belts. Megadyne produces a
broad portfolio of V, synchronous, conveyor and specialty belts in
rubber and urethane materials. From its humble beginning in 1957
in Mathi, Italy; Megadyne today serves the worldwide industrial

America and Asia working with a strong network of OEM and
distributor partners.
The cornerstone of today’s Megadyne Americas, a member of the
Megadyne Group, was laid in 1993 when Megadyne (Mathi, Italy)
and Jason Industrial (Fairfield, NJ), worked together to establish
Megadyne America – a urethane timing belt manufacturing plant
in Charlotte, NC. In 2007, Megadyne acquired Jason Industrial.

Platinum is an ultra-high performance synchronous power transmission belt constructed with “dual core” hybrid tensile cord technology
and combined with a nitrile-based HNBR compound body which delivers a product capable of handling the most demanding high-power,
high-torque drives.

Platinum Design
Platinum was designed to replace drives using roller chain and
gears and is an alternative to Poly Chain® on these drives. The
Platinum design achieves a high-power capacity drive with excellent
dimensional stability and a fully-functional interchange with all of the
most common existing deep pulley tooth profile systems.
New “RPCK Belt Tooth Profile
With Platinum, Megadyne has created RPC. RPC, developed and
tested in-house at our Barcelona, Spain production site, is an evolution
of the RPP tooth profile. RPC is a more efficient design that is fully
interchangeable with HTD®, RPP® and Poly Chain®
PCGT ®, PowerGrip® GT®2, HTD® and Poly Chain® are registered
trademarks of the Gates Corporation

Platinum Advantages
• HIGHEST PERFORMANCE SYNCHRONOUS BELT
For new designs and existing heavily loaded extreme drives,
Platinum performs where competitive ultra-high performance
belts have restrictions, such as high temperatures, oily
environments, use of backside idlers and the need for special
widths. Platinum performs at 98% efficiency and can have an
expected average efficiency as much as 5% over v-belts.
• INTERCHANGEABILITY
Platinum offers greater drive flexibility with the RPC belt tooth
profile being compatible on multiple pulley types. Older tooth
profile technology (RPP®, PCGT®, PowerGrip® GT®2, HTD®) can
be significantly upgraded with Platinum by allowing the use of
existing pulleys.
• AVAILABLE IN ANY WIDTH
Platinum belts are stocked in sleeve form. This means we can
slit the belt to your desired width, offering you the flexibility
to design any drive without width restrictions. Megadyne is
equipped to provide you the exact width belt and ship promptly
from all of our strategically located distribution centers.
• LOWER NOISE
HNBR rubber-based technology is quieter than comparable
polyurethane belts. Sound tests confirm Platinum is quieter!
• WIDER RANGE OF OPERATING TEMPERATURES
Platinum can operate without problems in environments from
-31°F up to 239°F. Comparable polyurethane systems are
restricted to -65°F up to 185°F.

Standard Belt Length Range

Platinum belts are manufactured in 8mm and 14mm pitch. Standard lengths listed below. Platinum belts are stocked in sleeve widths.
This allows Megadyne to supply any belt width desired - we can promptly slit-to-width and ship the required belt.
