Streetcar Line Prioritization – Council Member (s)

The Dallas Streetcar Central Link is a proposed streetcar expansion project to create a link
between the current Dallas Streetcar system through the core of Downtown Dallas to the
McKinney Avenue Trolley Line.

As the Councilmembers representing the Central Business District, we would like to affirm our
strong support for the expansion of the Dallas Streetcar system by making the “Central Link” a
top priority to improve ridership, downtown economic development, and
walkability. Downtown Dallas Inc. has expressed its support for this project.

We are requesting that, in the absence of committees, Staff be prepared to bring this item to a full
council briefing at the earliest opportunity, for the purpose of formalizing the Council’s support
for the “Central Link,” and requesting that DART prioritize construction of the “Central Link”
project.
