For my community connection assignment I chose a Virtual Tour of the Mexican Museum.

museum/cQUB6YTOOZIMJg) The exhibits showcased on the virtual tour are Feldscott: Chants

and Prayers and CultureStrike: Visions from the Inside. The first work of art I saw was from the

Feldscott: Chants and Prayers exhibit. These paintings provide very metaphorical meanings. My

mind is interpreting the painting of people being killed as a historical replication of some history.

It seems like he is sharing his emotions and knowledge through artwork. This work sheds light

on many interesting ideas through the art he chooses to create. Feldsott’s work with the

struggling community really launched his career and I really respect how Feldsott took what was

given to him and made beautiful art to attract attention. Along with paintings there was also a

section of beautiful ceramics and figurines along with books and a few other pieces on the walls.

This section of ceramics was truly beautiful I love how unique each piece of pottery is. The other

exhibit shown in this tour is the CultureStrike: Visions from the Inside this exhibit showcases

multiple artists who are detained and formerly detained migrants. This concept in itself gives me

joy knowing that this museum and others are supporting the fight for safer and happier homes

and lives for the migrants. These letters provide real life situations and pain and trauma these

migrants go through to live safely or be united with their family. These art pieces are beautifully

but painfully made and their stories deserve to be heard. I loved going through this virtual tour I
am sorry I could not afford transportation to the exhibit myself I was hoping to, hopefully soon

this museum is inspiring and the artwork held here is powerful and very educational. I love how

artists can provide so much motivation and emotional within their artwork truly beautiful tour.
