Dear Parents/Guardians of Non-public, Parochial, Private, and Charter school students,

The PSAT 8/9 will be administered to 8th-grade students seeking admission and 9th-grade students
seeking a transfer to Dr. Ronald E. McNair Academic High School and Infinity Institute for September
2024. Students currently residing in Jersey City enrolled in a non-public, parochial, private, or charter
school can register for the PSAT 8/9.

The administration of the test will be conducted at Franklin L. Williams MS#7, located at 222 Laidlaw
Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07306, on Saturday, October 28, 2023. This date is the only opportunity the
district provides to test 8th and 9th-grade residents of Jersey City who do not attend the Jersey City
Public Schools. Students cannot take the PSAT 8/9 at any other Jersey City Public School location.

Since the PSAT 8/9 will be administered digitally, late registrants will not be permitted to take the
assessment. All students must be registered on or before October 11, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.

Detailed information regarding the registration process for the PSAT 8/9 was provided to non-public,
parochial, private, and charter school representatives. These representatives will provide
parents/guardians with detailed information regarding the admissions process provided by our district
personnel. Parents/guardians will find frequently asked questions and answers for registration here.
Registering for the PSAT 8/9 is the first step in the application process of the McNair Academic High
School and Infinity Institute.

If your child is a current resident of Jersey City and your child attends a school that is not familiar with
the testing process, please have your child’s school counselor reach out to Kristin Mattaliano,
kmattaliano@jcboe.org, Jenna Napolitano, jnapolitano@jcboe.org, Norman Castro, ncastro@jcboe.org,
or Nicole Colon, ncolon@jcboe.org for more information.

Professionally,

Ellen M. Ruane
Assistant Superintendent
Curriculum & Instruction
