Bone marrow stores fat. It also produces red and white blood cells.

Ball and socket joint:

A joint that allows rotation of a limb in all directions e.g. the shoulder joint.

Hinge Joint:

Allows for flexing and extending in one direction. E.g. the knee or elbow joint.

17. Describe the structure and function of hair. (4 pt)

Hair grows from hair follicles situated in the dermis. Individual hair strands are made up of
many layers of dead keratin cells. Hair allows for maintaining homeostasis through warming
or cooling body temperature. It also protects the skin from damage by harmful UV rays.
