Is it a government problem or parents' inability to provide their children with a

happy life?
How many children are forced to work, losing their carefree childhood every year?
More than 150 million children between the ages of 5 and 17 around the world work
to survive. 108 million of them work on farms and plantations, often in life-
threatening conditions. Today, almost 70% of all underage workers are employed in
agriculture, which is 12% more than a few years ago. This illustrates one of today’s
most important issues: child labour.
One of the causes is poverty. Often parents, who cannot afford to meet their basic
needs like food, water, education or health care, have no choice but to send their
children to work to reduce the household income. Or, children see the suffering of
their parents and want to help them with all their might.
One of the consequences of this is that child labour can result in extreme bodily and
mental harm, and even death. Moreover, it can lead to slavery and sexual or
economic exploitation. This deprives children of the opportunity to go to school or
forces them, in addition to schoolwork and homework, to burden themselves with
extra work done elsewhere, work that enslaves them and separates them from their
families.
There are a number of possible solutions. These include providing support for
children. Both parents and the state must take care of every child and ensure a
dignified life. The government must closely monitor disadvantaged families and take
care of the child's physical and moral condition. They must provide material
resources for everything necessary, for example, food, water, clothing, materials for
training and others.
In conclusion, the problem for all countries is that the government is focusing on
global adversity. However, before looking to the future, you need to understand your
present. Children are the most precious thing in every nation, they are our hope,
support and chance for a better life. We must grow them, teach them, and provide
them with everything they need.
