Administering a backup environment for a company or an organization is a complicated


undertaking performed by a team of administrators, operators, and technical engineers,
each with specific tasks. This course is intended for system or network administrators,
system engineers, technical support personnel, and system integration and
development staff who are responsible for configuring devices and storage units,
configuring and managing media, creating and configuring backup policies, performing
backups and restores, and protecting the backup data and configuration.
Course prerequisites
Students attending this course should be familiar with:
• UNIX or Windows system administration.
• Storage area network (SAN) concepts.
• Data protection concepts and terminology.

• Create backup policies that define the rules NetBackup follows.
• Back up and restore data for physical and virtual machine clients.
• Configure AdvancedDisk and NetBackup deduplication storage.

• Protect your data with duplication and storage lifecycle policies.
• Protect your NetBackup configuration.
