Report of Study Tour organized by Department of Botany


As per prescribed syllabus of RTM, Nagpur University Nagpur, every year
Department of Botany of our institution organizes study tour.
Following are the steps are been followed every year for successful conduction of one day
botany study tour:-

 Through circular/notice, college informed all students.


 Select favourable location.
 Prepare expenditure details as per number of students.
 Assign responsibility to all concerning teaching & non-teaching staff.
 Finalize date of visit.
 Finalize travel/tourism authorities.
 Instruct students about study items & other requirements needed during
study tour.
 Collect undertaking from all students.

During visit, faculties explain the importance of location, shown actual habitat, discussed
& informed about all plants groups such as (Algae, Fungi, Bryophytes, Pteridophytes,
Gymnosperms, Angiosperms) along with their taxonomy details which includes botanical
names & its classification. If needed, whole plant is described. Economic importance,
medicinal uses, extinction of any species & other specialities related climate, temperature,
composition of soil etc. is also informed to all students. Non-teaching staff and students
tried to collect those plant species which does not affect its contribution in nature.
Tremendous care is taken for not to harm any resource in surrounding area of visit.
Collected plant species is then conserve in specimen form and kept in laboratory. Some
aquatic species is also conserve in our institutional water tank. After completion of tour or
achieving the objectives of study tour, College asked students to submit their tour report.
So that college will evaluate its outcomes.
Also college location provide us to organize small study tour like visit to
Gadmata forest area, Ambezaran & other surrounding forest area which is situated 03 to
04km around our campus area hence with respect to the need or during botany
practical’s college is organizing various small tours and expose students to learn &
explore various aspects of botany subject.

All the concerned students of Botany B.Sc. are hereby informed, you that their Botanical Excursion

Tour to Gangulpara (Dist- Balaghat) will be finalized on 03/10/2013 at 7.30 am. All concerned students

should remain present well before half an hour as per the scheduled departure time mentioned above.

All the students must carry following articles along with them.

1. Lunch Box
2. Water Bottle
3. Sport Shoes or plane Hill footwear.
4. Polythene Bags
5. College Identity Card
