SWORN TESTIMONIES
(SEVERAL JOINT AFFIDAVIT)

We, PRESCILLA O. MAYOCDAN, GLORIA C. DADO, ANGELINA S.


FUENZALIDA and ADELA BALTAZAR, all of legal age, Filipinos and with
residences and postal addresses at Cawat, Upper Ambiong, Ambiong, La
Trinidad, Benguet, after having been duly sworn to in accordance with law,
hereby depose and state:

1. That we are among the Ibaloi elders at Cawat, Upper Ambiong, Ambiong,
La Trinidad, Benguet;

2. That among our neighbors who belong to the Ibaloi tribes are Erlinda,
Carmelita, Virginia, Mario, Leticia and Renato, who are the children of
the late Teodora a.k.a.(also known as) Dora who was married to Fausto
Vicente;

3. That Teodora a.k.a. Dora was one of the children of Cacao and Odi
Dianson and her siblings are Dorothy, Arca, Samuel and Tom;

4. That the couple Cacao and Odi Dianson were among the early Ibaloi
settlers at Cawat, Upper Ambiong and have occupied a wide tract of land
with an area of 15 hectares and the said land was utilized for grazing
cow, goat and sheep as well as residential, planted with coffee and other
fruit trees and standing pine trees;

5. When Cacao died, the spouse Odi and children partitioned the said tract
of land where in Odi got 4 hectares, Dora (Teodora) got 3 hectares, Arca
got 4 hectares and Samuel got 4 hectares;

6. Samuel died single and have no heir hence, his land of 4 hectares was
partitioned among his nieces and nephews and among them are Erlinda,
Virginia, Carmelita, Mario, Renato and Leticia and collectively inherited
an area of 7,000 square meters;

7. When Teodora a.k.a. Dora died, the children collectively enherited an


area of 1.7 hectares and now the subject of the ancestral land claim
including the 7,000 square meters inherited from Samuel;

8. The metes and bounds of the land subject of ancestral land claim are
marked on the ground by cylindrical monuments and few residential
houses were erected near the boundary line;

9. The land claimants who are Ibalois practices some of the old customs
and traditions of the Ibaloi such as protecting the old trees and bushes
along the creek and source of the spring where they get their water for
household use and also practice “fallow” system wherein the agricultural
lots will not be cultivated for three (3) to five (5) years in order for the soil
to regain its fertility;

10. They claimants also butcher a pig or a chicken to offer to the unseen
occupants of the land called “atang”;

We are executing this affidavit to attest to the veracity of my foregoing
