1. Distinguish the meaning of the terms "Mutiny" and "Revolution"


The "overthrow" of one type of government in favor of the establishment of another is
referred to as a revolution. Examples include the American Revolution, which led to the
removal of the British monarchy in favor of a free republic, and the Russian Revolution, which
saw the overthrow of the Russian monarchy in favor of a communist (socialist) form of
government. In a similar spirit, a mutiny (as in one ship) may be seen as a much lesser variant of
a REVOLT, despite the strong relationship between the two words.
