1.

The themes or ideas that are dealt with in the song "Wake me up" are that
you need someone to guide you and save you from your problems, someone
that will help you deal with all the loneliness and evil you are going through. I
think that the writer of the song is trying to say to the listener that even if you don’t
know how to deal with something and you think that life is so difficult and unfair,
you will slowly learn how to deal with it and you will realize that life isn’t so difficult
and it's really depending on your point of view about the world and about the
situations.
When I first heard the song, I thought Avicii had written it about me, I had a lot of
homework which made it difficult for me to have meet people after school, and
slowly I lost some of my friends. When I heard the song, I believed that the situation
is not the right situation and that it can get better, I believed that if I hurried a little
with the homework, I might still be able to fix my connection with my friends, and so
it was, I managed to fix my relationship with my close friends. Now I'm trying to fix
my connection with a girl, we used to be best friends but now we're not talking
anymore, I don’t even know why. Every time I think about my relationship with her it
makes me sad that we aren’t friends so I listen to this song and get a bit optimistic
about how we can build up again our relationship and not leave it in this awkward
situation. The song makes me optimistic because at the beginning of it, the words
are telling that we feel we aren’t in a good place and during the song we avoid
recovering from this situation but at the end I feel that we are more optimistic about
the situation.

2. The lines that I like more than the others are:

“I tried carrying the weight of the world
But I only have two hands
Hope I get the chance to travel the world
But I don't have any plans”
I like these lines more than the others because of their meaning and my
identification with them.
"I tried carrying the weight of the world
But I only have two hands "
It happened to me too many times, I felt like I was carrying this heavy world in my
hands, I felt like I was trying to do more and more things to make the world perfect
but due to the stress I collapsed, I felt like I was trying to do too many things at once
and that I needed a vacation from all the stress.
"Hope I get the chance to travel the world
But I don't have any plans"
I usually try to be spontaneous but sometimes it costs me a little because when
other people aren’t spontaneous it's hard to arrange with them. I like to plan some
of the things that I do for the long term, things I know I should plan like studying for
a test in two weeks or work that has to be done so I plan the things in a way that I
will have less stress in the future. But if I want to meet with somebody, I usually
arrange our meeting on the same day that we will hopefully meet. I think that I do it
because my memory is horrible, and I don’t want to forget that I arranged a meeting
with someone so if I arrange it on the same day, I will not forget it.

3. Tim Bergling, known as Avicii, was born on September 8th, 1989 in Stockholm,
Sweden. He was the son of Anki Lidén and Klas Bergling, a Swedish sitcom actress
and a businessman. He was a Swedish DJ, remixer, record producer, musician and
songwriter. At the age of 16, Avicii began posting his remixes on electronic music
forums, which led to the start of his career with his first record deal.
In 2013 he released his first album, “True” which was a great success and in 2015 he
released his second album “Stories”.
Bergling retired from touring in 2016, having suffered from stress and poor mental
health for several years.
In 2017, a documentary called “True Stories” directed by Levan Tsikurishvili was
released which told the tale of his life. On April 20th, 2018, he died by suicide while
on holiday in Muscat, Oman. In 2019, his third and final album, "Tim", which he
never got to finish, was released posthumously.

4. Short story:
Jonas's family died in an accident and left him behind alone and sad. The hole in his
heart, it was dark and full of sadness, he had to recover from the lost and start a
journey without his family. He thought that the first step to start this journey, that
most probably will never end, is to try to forget his family, but he couldn’t, he just
couldn't forget them because they were all his world. After few months that he
couldn't keep on with his normal life because of this tragedy, some professional
people told him that forgetting his family isn’t the solution and that he needs to
immortalize them so after it he will be able to forget them without any blame.
He wished that one day he will wake up when it's all over, to a reality in which his
family hadn’t died and everything is like before the accident. To a reality in which he
will not be lost. He came to a conclusion that love is a prize and that family is a very
important thing, how sad that he concludes it only after the death of all his family
members. Only then, he realized that he was lost without them.

5. I enjoyed that I could do the project on a song that I have chosen because
that is my favorite song in English and as I do some work about things I like,
it's much more fun and I took this project with pleasure. The project was on
something that really interested me, and it gave me a reason to attach more
importance to the lyrics of the song and not just to the melody. I never
attached much importance to the lyrics and the meaning of them because the
melody made the song sound happy, I didn't know it was talking about a
crisis. From now on, I will look at the lyrics of the song as well because I
learned that the melody sometimes helps to understand the meaning of the
song but sometimes the melody is misleading us. What I disliked in this
project was that I learned that Avicii suicided, I didn’t know it before, and it
was sad to learn it.
