INTRODUCTION
Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Davao is a
respected institution known for its commitment to
providing quality education. In the face of increasing
competition and evolving student expectations, it is
essential for LPU Davao to focus on developing and
maintaining long-term student relationships. This case
study explores the strategies employed by LPU Davao
to address this challenge.
II. ISSUES UNDERLYING
THE PROBLEM
The following key issues underline the challenge of developing and
maintaining long-term student relationships at LPU Davao:

• Competition in Higher Education: Davao City is home to several


educational institutions, intensifying competition for student
enrollment.

• Changing Student Expectations: Modern students have diverse


expectations regarding their educational experience, demanding
personalized support and engagement.

• Student Retention: Ensuring that enrolled students stay engaged


and continue their education at LPU Davao is crucial for long-term
institutional growth.
III. OBJECTIVES:
The specific objectives of LPU Davao include:

• Enhancing student engagement and satisfaction through personalized


academic support and robust student services.
• Fostering a vibrant and inclusive campus life that caters to the diverse
interests and needs of the student body.
• Establishing a strong digital presence and fostering effective
communication to ensure a seamless and engaging academic
experience.
• Providing financial support and aid initiatives to alleviate the financial
burden on students, thus improving student retention rates. The
scholarship program provided by LPU Davao and the continuous financial
assistance from BUKAS are currently in progress.
• Improving the institution's overall reputation and standing through
effective student relationship development and retention strategies.

A. Current Marketing Strategies:
• Analysis of the effectiveness of current marketing campaigns and
outreach initiatives.
• Examination of the institution's brand positioning and its alignment

B. Situation Analysis of Internal Environment:


• Assessment of the existing academic support systems, student
services, and campus life initiatives.
• Evaluation of the faculty's engagement with students and the
quality of the learning experience.
• Review of the financial aid programs and their accessibility to
students
C. Situation Analysis of Customer Environment:
• Understanding the changing expectations and needs of the student body
in terms of academic support and campus life.
• Analysis of the satisfaction levels among students regarding existing
services and initiatives.
• Examination of the financial constraints and challenges faced by the
student population.

D. Situation Analysis of External Environment:


• Study of the competitive landscape in Davao City's higher education
sector and its impact on student enrollment.
• Analysis of the technological trends and advancements influencing
student engagement and academic experiences.
• Evaluation of the regional economic factors and their influence on student
financial capabilities.
E. SWOT Analysis using TOWS Matrix (Include Researchable Areas):
• Strengths: Strong faculty expertise, established reputation in the
region, diverse course offerings. (Bachelor of Forensic Science)
• Weaknesses: Limited digital infrastructure, lack of specific career-
oriented programs, possible gaps in student services.
• Opportunities: Growing demand for specialized courses,
increasing emphasis on mental health support, expanding digital
engagement possibilities.
• Threats: Intensifying competition from other educational
institutions, fluctuating economic conditions, evolving student
preferences and expectations.

LPU Davao can conduct detailed research in these areas to refine its
strategies and better cater to the needs of its students.
V. ALTERNATIVE
SOLUTIONS TO THE
PROBLEM:
To address the issues mentioned above, LPU Davao has implemented various
strategies:

A. Personalized Academic Support:


- Develop a comprehensive academic advising program that assigns
dedicated advisors to students.
- Implement mentorship initiatives where experienced students guide
newcomers.
-Offer flexible course schedules to accommodate diverse student needs.

B. Enhanced Student Support Services:

being.
- Establish a career services center to assist students with career planning and
job placement.
- Promote peer tutoring and academic support groups to bolster student
success.
C. Enriched Campus Life:
- Introduce more extracurricular activities, clubs, and organizations to cater to

- Create platforms for students to propose and lead their initiatives and projects.

D. Digital Engagement:
