1.0 Introduction
This document shall address the typical works for cleaning, grinding, touch up and skim coat works.
The existing wall at the said area are required to be cleaned and grinded for receiving the skim coat
finishing.

2.0 Resources
2.1 Materials
All materials used on site must be approved type and they are as follows: -
13 Squareness 1 Nos
14 Taping Rod 1 Nos
15 Electrical Mixer 1 Nos
3.2.2 Location for storage and the type of material to store must be approved by
Kinetics.
3.3 Receiving
3.3.1 All delivery materials to the site shall be informed to the site manager/ to have the
plan for unloading. Upon arrival of materials at the storage yard, the materials
controller will match delivery notes and shall verify the consignment.
3.3.3 Upon arrival of the material, the consignment shall be verified by the supervisor to
match the packing list and inspected by Kinetics QAQC & Client.
3.3.4 All material received at site shall be visually inspected for any damages in order to
avoid of work.
3.3.5 Deliver each container with labeling intact which identifies manufacturer, type of
material, brand name, brand code, coverage, surface preparation, drying time,
cleanup, color designation, and instructions for mixing and reducing.
3.4 Handling
3.4.1 Proper methods & equipment, i.e., trolley or pallet jack to be used for transferring
of the materials or tools.
3.4.2 Supervisor shall monitor the work and ensure the work is complied with all safety
requirements.
3.5 Storage
3.5.1 Proper barricade & barrier ownership tag to be used for materials storage.
3.5.3 Store materials in a sheltered dry place that is free from excessive moisture.
3.5.4 Daily housekeeping shall be carried out to ensure the cleanness of the area.
4.1.2 Investigate & coordinate of existing buildings, structure, M&E which may affected
the progress of the works.
4.1.3 Identify the storage location for materials, tool and equipment.
4.1.4 The working areas must be barricade using barricade cone and safety tape to
avoid people to enter the working areas.
No Activity Sequence
1 a) To inform related Project Manager, System Owner and KINETICS EHS
management before start work for the day.
b) To obtain the entire relevant valid EHS document, SIPP and PTP before
start work.
c) To assign all the workers, stuff to attend safety induction before start work.
d) Get the valid permit for the workers and machinery to enter the site.
d) During the progress of activity, the work shall be under the continuous
supervision of an experienced foreman.

d) Shall be use manpower to mobilize the materials into the work location and
storage area.
e) Get advised from KINETICS project management team for the location for
material storage.
f) Shall be used forklift to mobilize the materials into the work area if
necessary.
g) Pallet Jack shall be used during work where necessary for mobilize the
material to work location needed.
4 To brief the workers on the job sequence and streamline their job for hazard
avoidance prior work starts.
6 To prepare the power supply to the working area by using extension wire for
temporary lighting at night.

d) Work started with grinding the wall to receive the skim coat by using grinder
angle and scrapper.
e) Wash and remove any grease on existing wall by using wet cloth.
f) Examine and identify all holes, crack lines, crack areas and hollow wall
on the wall surface.
g) Fill and touch up the crack using base coat with scrapper before
proceeding with the skim coat.
h) Surfaces must be clean, free from dust, oil and any trace of foreign
materials. Wall surface defects exceeding 5mm shall be rectified as
per manufacturer’s recommendation.
i) For unexpected existing wall that only have raw block wall usually
occur after partition wall removed will be apply render coat first
because of unevenness at existing joint termination from stiffener
and lintel beam.
j) Before apply render coat, all surfaces must be clean, free from dust,
oil and any trace of foreign materials that may affect bonding.
f) For dry or high absorbing substrates, moisten the surface with water
prior to application.
h) Mix thoroughly with an electrical mixer for 3-5 minutes until the
desired homogeneous paste is achieved.
i) Ensure the mix is free from lumps before use. Remix for 1 minute if
the mixed paste is left unused for more than 30 minutes.
f) Mix the base coat with water thoroughly with mixer for 3-5 minutes until
the desired homogenous mortar is achieved.
h) Scoop the base coat, put on steel trowel and apply to the surface
by pressing the base coat well on to the surface for adequate
bonding.
j) Upon completion of base coat, inspect the surface of base coat applied
by visual inspection. The surface must be smooth.
l) Mix the finishing coat with water thoroughly with mixer for 3-5 minutes
until the desired homogenous mortar is achieved.
m) For dry/ high absorbing substrates, moisten the surfaces with water prior
to application.
All equipment has been cleaned and stored correctly away from
access areas
All fire exits and emergency access points are kept clear at all times
and is never blocked by equipment or rubbish
the gear is consolidated and is all out of harm’s way when handing
over scaffold
Before leaving the site each day, make sure that clean-up has been
finalized and no hazards are visible.
ITP shall also address the “Hold Point”, where approval on the work activity is required.
