North Sumatra has many iconic places with their own amazing charm. One of
them is Lau Kawar Lake. Lau Kawar Lake is located in Kutagugung Village,
Namanteran District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra. With a height of 2,450 meters
above sea level with fresh air, while the area itself is approximately 200 ha and is
flanked by natural mountains covered with tropical forest wood. On the edge of this
lake stretches 3 ha of land for camping. In this lake, visitors can enjoy its beauty, take
photos, even for people who like challenges there are objects for rock climbing and
climbing to Mount Sinabung through the wilderness. According to local residents, in
the past there were two children named Sinabung and Sibayak. they always fight and
never get along. This made their mother sad and crying. From the mother's tears the
Lake Lau Kawar was formed. Another myth has been heard, that Lake Lau Kawar is
the tears of a mother who was forgotten by her family while partying. While she was
left alone and starving. But whatever the history are, the scenery is breathtaking.
