Rizal “The Traveler”

Cite 2 of what you think are the most remarkable travels of Rizal or places abroad he had been through.
Explain briefly your reason/s.

 Germany (on his 1st Travel)

 Since the start of Rizal’s travel, from the very first country he visited, the objective has
always been for him to learn, write, and eventually, finish his novel; in Germany, this
objective was realized. It is noteworthy that during his time in Germany, he completed
and published his first book, Noli Me Tangere. It served as a stepping stone that let them
determine their future intentions and the course of events based on how the rest of the
world, particularly the Spaniards, would respond to the implications of his work.

 Hongkong (on his 2nd Travel)

 It has been so long since Rizal began his second journey when the Rizal family had a
mini-reunion in Hong Kong. At that time, I felt Rizal had become just Jose or Pepe, as he
had been before he decided to devote his life to seeking justice and finding ways to grant
the Philippines the freedom it rightfully deserves. It was also in Hong Kong that Rizal was
permitted to use his medical license in Hong Kong and was allowed to start his well-
deserving medical practice as he started his clinic. I had the impression that for a short
while, he was allowed to experience what his life should have been like and perhaps
what it would have been like had the circumstances been different and the Philippines
were not in the cruel hands of Spaniards.
