50% of assessment for Work Placement Portfolio module 7BSP1336 (you must complete and pass
both
parts to receive a complete for this module)
Reflect on personal learning and skills development: evidence how this has been developed, and
critically analyse the attributes and competencies required to gain and be successful in postgraduate
employment
The post placement interviews take place during June (you will be offered a choice of times). The interview
lasts approximately twenty to thirty minutes (a 30-minute appointment will be made) and will focus on what
skills you have gained from your placement. To support you in preparing for the interview, below is an outline
of the areas covered along with details of how you will be assessed and given feedback. Remember to make
use of the STARR technique when preparing your examples (please refer back to the Interim Skills Report
guidance on the module site for a refresher on the STARR model). Once you have answered the questions,
there will be an opportunity to ask the assessor questions.
Additional questions:
What support did you receive which helped develop your skills?
Were you advised if you were doing a good job and did your employer give you
feedback throughout your role?
How have you developed overall as a result of your placement experience?
2) From the skills and qualities, you just shared, choose the ONE you feel
is most relevant to your placement role and describe a time when you
have demonstrated this skill whilst on your placement – the STARR
structure will help you present this effectively (30%)
Additional questions:
What feedback did you receive afterwards?
Would you do anything differently if you were in a similar position in the
future?
How do you feel the development of this skill will benefit you in the
future?
Additional questions:
What type of graduate roles will you be applying for or considering?
What are your key strengths and achievements that you will promote when applying
for future jobs?
How do you see yourself using the skills you gained on placement for future roles as
a graduate?
