SPEAKING TASK – CUT 3-DDI011 - A

Discussing moral dilemmas- 20%

With your partner, create a conversation in which you discuss ONE of the following situations
involving moral dilemmas you are going through and try to help each other come to make the
best possible decision. Remember to pay attention to pronunciation, intonation (do NOT read a
text) and grammar and vocabulary use. Your conversation must be 3 minutes long.

SITUATION 1

STUDENT A

Your best friend paints in her spare time. She loves doing it but you think she
is terrible! Yesterday it was your birthday and your friend has painted a picture
as a present. It will hurt her feelings if you don’t hang it up in the house, but
you think it’s awful.

STUDENT B

You’ve won quite a large amount of money on the lottery. Your wife/husband’s
brother, who you have never got on with and can’t stand, is in serious financial
difficulties and is going to have his house repossessed. You don’t want to give
him your money, but if you don’t, you’ll have to keep it a secret from everyone.

SITUATION 2

STUDENT A

You really like your neighbors and they are a great couple. The only problem is
 that they throw wild parties occasionally. You think they are into drugs, maybe
even dealing.

STUDENT B
You are failing a class you were required to take but totally hate. You have an on-
line exam. If you fail the exam, you will fail the class. You can cheat without
anyone knowing but you’ve never done anything like that before.

Dinámica
1. Lean cuidadosamente la situación o tema asignado por su docente.

2. Preparen su conversación de 3 mins, basado en la situación o tema asignado. Recuerden que

deben aparecer frente a la cámara mientras estén hablando. Eviten leer texto ya que esto afectará
significativamente su calificación. Tengan siempre presente que es una actividad de producción oral.

3. Grabe su reporte oral utilizando youtube, flipgrid o cualquier otra aplicación sugerida por su
docente.

4. Una vez esté seguro de que su grabación cumple con los requisitos dados, suba aquí el archivo
dentro de las fechas asignadas.
