Repair of each welding defect shall based on the result of visual inspection and Dry Penetrant Test or Radiography Test. This procedure also covers the minor repair of piting corrosion plate and defect after removed of tack weld on the base material. ‘After defect repair, field test and inspection shall be performed and confirmed to satisfy the requirements of applicable code and specification. Buttering or weld build up on joints j) Defect on the material such as crack, pittings, gouge or tear according to recommendation after inspection. k) Defect on plate, pipe & fittings after removed tack weld. 6.0 REPAIR PROCEDURE. a) Procedure Repair on the Welding area.When defect, un-acceptable to specifications are detected as result of testing and or inspection, the defective weld shall required or removed. b) Before welding repair are made, injurious defect shall entirely removed to sound metal by are ‘gauging, grinding, chipping or machining and checked Visually by QC Inspector. ©) All slag and scale shall be removed. 4) The welding procedure to be used for repairing shall be in principle the applicable procedure qualified. Such repair area shall be r-Penetrant test, r-radiographic or inspected by the some means previously used. PT. GRINVIRO BIOTEKNO INDONESIA Dipindat dengan CamScanner PT GRINVIRO BIOTEKNO INDONESIA anffvrs 0 Aguntus 202 €) The repair welding shall be carried out by qualified welder using approved by welding procedure specification (WPS). ) Buttering or weld build-up on the prepared surface shall not exceed the lesser of 1/3 of the base metal thickness. 9) The buttering shall be inspected by DPT, after completion of the built-up but before final ‘welding of joint. h) Documentation requirement upon completion repair or welding area shall be record. i) Surface area to be clean before repair with wire brush, grinding, chipping or machining, make sure all corrosion will be removed from area to be repair. j) After the entire defect have been clean and prepare the welding for repair of defect and shall be checked by visual before welding. k) The weld deposit overtay shall be qualified on base metal of the same composition. |) After repair by welding finish all area repairs will be smoothly grind and shall be checked by QC Inspector. m) After finish repair mark material repair with “ Repair OK”. 7.0 WELDING CONTROL a) All welding procedures employed shall be in accordance with welding specification. All Welding Procedures shall be qualified in accordance with the approved Welding Procedure ‘Specification (WPS). b) All welder to perform welding shall have been qualified in accordance with the specification for welder approval test. Welding electrodes shall be kept dried and protected.
