Evidencing Your Right to Work in Australia RMR933

Any person we make an employment offer to must be able to provide proof of their right to work in
Australia prior to commencement with us.

You must be able to provide us with a copy of at least one of the approved documentation options
detailed below:

 An Australian passport; or

 An Australian citizenship certificate or a certificate of evidence of Australian citizenship and


another form of photo identification such as a driver's licence; or

 A full Australian birth certificate and another form of photo identification such as a driver's
license; or

 A full Australian birth certificate for a person born on or after 20 August 1986 showing that at
least one parent was born in Australia and another form of photo identification such as a
driver's license; or

 A valid visa with work rights.

If the name on the birth certificate is different to the name under which the person is being employed,
name change documentation must be provided (e.g. Marriage certificate)

Documents that are not a proof of Right to Work:

 Tax File Number


 Driver's license
 Medicare card
 Bank account
 Referrals from employment agencies
 References from previous employers

I have included a copy of the relevant documentation requested above to prove my right to work in
Australia.
