School-based feeding program (SBFP) is intended to alleviate short-term hunger, improve


nutrition and cognition of children, and transfer income to families. The present review
explores the impact of SFPs on nutritional, health, and educational outcomes of school-
aged children in developing countries. Specifically, the goals of objectives are the following:
1. provide feeding to learners, prioritizing the SW and W;
2. improve the nutritional status of the SW and W learners at the end of 46 feeding days;
3. Ensure 100% deworming of target beneficiaries prior to the feeding activity;
4. Conduct group daily hand washing and tooth brushing activities as stipulated in
DepEd Order No. 10, s. 2016, to impart development of positive health-promoting
values and behaviors;
5. Promote health and nutrition information and awareness among target beneficiaries
through the K to 12 Curriculum and its alternative modalities of education; and
6. Encourage Gulayan sa Paaralan Program and backyard vegetable gardening to
augment the feeding program and to complement the nutrition and poverty reduction
initiatives of the Government.

Implementation
Goods and feeding effects will be sourced from local establishments and farmers
whose papers needed in government procurement are available. This will be done on a twice or
thrice a week or depending on the circumstances. The delivery of ordered goods will also be
on a twice or thrice a week basis, depending, also, on the circumstances. The persons involved
in this stage will be the supplier, the school head, the feeding coordinator, and some concerned
teachers involved in the canvass, inspection, and receiving of the delivered goods.

Involvement of Community, LGU, and Other Partners


The parents of the pupil-recipients of the feeding program will be tapped in the picking
up of the foods in the designated drop-off point or in the school. They will become the primary
partners of the school in the run of this program. Other partners like LGU will be tapped on
possible partnerships like in the delivery of goods and other possible supports.

Expectation/Output
The realization of outputs and goals stated above is expected after this program. Above
all, it is expected that after this program, every Oaseño learner is well-nourished, with
improved cognition, and attending the school, even at home or physically.
