Indian Women’s Cricket Team Wins Gold Medal by Defeating Sri Lanka by 19 Runs in
the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou. Bangladesh Claims Bronze by defeating Pakistan.

➢ The right-hand batter of Canada Danielle McGahey is set to become the first
transgender woman player to play in international cricket.

➢ Indian Star Virat Kohli, who was playing his 500th international match against West
Indies in Port of Spain, made the game more special for him by scoring his 29th Test
century on 21st July and made him equal to Sir Don Bradman’s record. Also, Kohli
surpassed South Africa’s Jacques Kallis to become the fifth-highest run-scorer in
international cricket history.

➢ England's Stuart Broad has become the second pace bowler to take 600 wickets in
Test cricket. England team-mate James Anderson is the only other quick bowler to
achieve the feat.

Mondo Duplantis, the Swedish pole vault sensation and reigning world and Olympic
champion, won the 2023 Diamond League Final in Eugene on September 17th. Duplantis
cleared the bar at 6.23 meters with his first attempt, surpassing his own world record of
6.22 meters set in Clermont-Ferrand back in February.

• PM SVANidhi Mobile App -


The mobile app for street vendors under the PM SVANidhi scheme was launched
recently, providing vendors with a user-friendly platform to apply for loans
conveniently. PM SVANidhi scheme was launched by Ministry of Housing and Urban
Affairs on June 1, 2020. Its main objectives are:
• To facilitate working capital loan
• To incentivize regular repayment
• To reward digital transactions

• Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA)


Launched by Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan to Provide Financial
Support to States for Improving their Higher Education Systems.

• PM Vishwakarma Scheme
Launched by PM Modi to Provide Financial Support & Skill to Traditional Artisans
And Craftspeople of Rs 10,000 To Rs 10 Lakh.

• Amrit Bharat Stations Scheme


Launched by PM Narendra Modi on August 6, 2023 this scheme comes under
Railway Ministry in this 1309 Small Railway Stations will Be Renovated.

• Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban

Launched on 25th June 2015 implemented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban
Affairs (MoHUA). Aim of this Yojana is to provide Housing for all in Urban Areas by
2024 {1st Target was 2022}. Recently, Govt has Increased Income threshold from Rs
3 lakh to Rs 6 Lakh for EWS Under this Yojana.

• Aswasanidhi Project

This project is initiated by the Women and Child Development department, has
provided interim financial relief totaling ₹10.17 crore to nearly 1,400 victims of sex
crimes and severe gender-based violence since its inception in 2018.

• PMGKAY (PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana)


Under this scheme New integrated food security scheme is started on 1st Jan 2023.
Its aim to provide 5 Kg free foodgrains to Antodaya Ann Yojna (AAY) & Primary
Household (PHH) Beneficiaries nearly 80 crore poor people and in this centre will
spend 2 Lakh crores.

• AI chatbot for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme


Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare has introduced an AI chatbot
integrated with the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. This
is developed in collaboration with the EkStep Foundation and Bhashini. Accessible
through the PM-KISAN mobile application, the AI chatbot is a tech marvel that offers
multilingual support. Currently available in English, Hindi, Bengali, Odia, and Tamil,
it is on track to become available in all 22 official languages of India.

• Unified Registration Portal

Ministry of Jal Shakti has introduced a unified registration portal for


GOBARdhan. This initiative is set to streamline the registration process for
compressed bio-gas (CBG) and biogas plants across the country. Department of
Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) announced the launch of the unified
registration portal.

• MSME Competitive (LEAN) Scheme

➢ Launched by MSME Ministry. Through the LEAN scheme, MSMEs can reduce
wastage substantially, increase productivity, improve quality, work safely,
expand their markets, and finally become competitive and profitable.
➢ The government will contribute 90% of implementation cost for handholding and
consultancy fees.
➢ There will be an additional contribution of 5% for the MSMEs which are part of
SFURTI clusters, owned by Women/SC/ST and located in Northeast region.
➢ There will be an additional contribution of 5% for MSMEs which are registering
through Industry Associations/ Overall Equipment Manufacturing (OEM)
organizations after completing all levels.

This is an Online Dredging Monitoring System launched to Accelerate The ‘Waste


to Wealth’ Initiative. Its aim is to Promotes Effective Reuse Of Dredged Material.
This is Launched by M/o Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW) & it is
developed by National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways & Coasts.

• Broadcasting Infrastructure and Network Development (BIND) :


By Ministry of Information & Broadcasting - The Cabinet Committee on Economic
Affairs has recently approved Broadcasting Infrastructure and Network
Development (BIND) scheme, worth over ₹2,500 crore, will focus on expanding
and upgrading the infrastructure of Prasar Bharati, as well as improving the digital
content and distribution network.

• National Green Hydrogen Mission :-


The Union Cabinet, led by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the
National Green Hydrogen Mission. The mission aims to make India a global hub for
the production, utilization, and export of green hydrogen and its derivatives. The
initial outlay for the mission will be Rs. 19,744 crore.

• Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana (PMGKAY) :


This is an integrated food security scheme launched by the Central Government of
India in January 2023.The program is operated by the Department of Food and
Public Distribution under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public
Distribution. But the nodal ministry is Ministry of Finance.

• Womaniya Initiative :
The Government e Marketplace (GeM) has launched a new initiative called
“Womaniya on GeM” to empower women entrepreneurs and women self-help
groups (WSHGs) to sell their products directly to various government ministries,
departments, and institutions.

• PARAKH Initiative : By NCERT

Performance Assessment Review and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic


Development - The Government of India recently launched PARAKH to assess the

National Education Policy, 2020.

• PM PRANAM Scheme :
The government has launched the PM PRANAM Scheme, which is aimed at

It was launched under the GOBAR DHAN Scheme.

Amelioration of Mother Earth.

• Digital India Mobile Van :


The Digital India Mobile Van was launched by the Ministry of Electronics and
Information Technology. The main objective of the mobile van is to spread
awareness of Digital India initiatives and also to spread the word about the G20
Digital Economy Working Group. Lucknow was the first destination of the mobile
van where the G20 DEWG’s first meet is held. The main purpose is “Jan Andolan".

• Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman: PM – VIKAS :


The scheme was announced by Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitaraman during
the Budget presentation.By this the Government of India is trying to boost its
economic status and keep the age-old arts and traditional crafts alive by different
means.

• NAMASTE Scheme : National Action for Mechanised Sanitation Ecosystem


By Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) as a joint initiative of the
MoSJEand the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).In the Union Budget
2023, the Government of India allocated Rs 100 crores for the NAMASTE scheme.
The scheme aims to provide an alternate livelihood to sanitation workers.

• MISTHI Scheme : Launched to “preserve Mangrove forests”.

• Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 :


The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana runs under Skill Development Ministry
and is implemented by the National Skill Development Corporation. During this, the
GoI will open 30 Skill India International Centres.

• Jal Jan Abhiyan :


This will be implemented by the Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Brahma Kumaris
organization. The main objective of the campaign is water conservation.

• Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) :


The Union Health Minister recently announced that 9,082 JanaushadhiKendras are
being operated under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya JanaushadhiPariyojana (PMBJP).
The target is to increase the numbers to 10,000 by December 2023. This was
launched in November 2008 to provide quality generic medicines at affordable
prices to everyone.

• VAIBHAV Fellowship Scheme : By Ministry of Science and Technology


This is launched in honor of National Science Day, which is celebrated on February
28th. The new initiative aims to enhance the research capability of India’s higher
education institutions by promoting academic and research collaborations with top-
performing institutions from around the world.

• Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) :


The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has launched this scheme in 57
Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) throughout India. This flagship initiative is
launched under NEP 2020.

• Integrated Pensioners’ Portal :

Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State, Personnel, announced that the
Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare has decided to create a new
“Integrated Pensioners’ Portal” by combining all pension portals such as Pension
Disbursing Bank portals, ANUBHAV, CPENGRAMS, CGHS, etc. at the Bankers
Awareness Workshop in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

• Har Payment Digital :


The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched a new mission called “Har Payment
Digital” as part of its efforts to make every Indian a user of digital payments.Also, the
central bank has started an initiative to adopt 75 villages and transform them into
digital payment-enabled villages.

• Vibrant Village program :


Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the Vibrant Village program at Kibithu, a remote
village near the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh. This program aims to
transform rural areas into self-sufficient and prosperous communities.It will cover
the border areas of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and
Ladakh.

• Smart Cities Mission :


The Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry has extended the deadline of its Smart
Cities Mission to June 2024.The Smart Cities Mission was began in 2015, chose 100
cities through a competitive process between January 2016 and June 2018. These
cities were given a five-year timeframe from the date of their selection to finish their
proposed projects.
