Fine arts – these are the artworks we readily associate with art. The term
“FINE ARTS” was first used to describe the art forms created primarily for their
appearance rather than their practical use.
 Drawing - refers to the technique of depicting images by making lines on
paper. Traditionally, it is in ink, pencil, crayon, charcoal, and chalk.
 Painting - is the practice of applying paint, pigment, color or other medium to
a solid surface (called the "matrix" or "support"). The medium is commonly
applied to the base with a brush, but other implements, such as knives,
sponges, and airbrushes, can be used.
 Sculpture - is the branch of the visual arts that operates in three dimensions.
Sculpture is the three-dimensional art work which is physically presented in
the dimensions of height, width and depth.
 Calligraphy - is a visual art related to writing. It is the design and execution of
lettering with a pen, ink brush, or other writing instrument. A contemporary
calligraphic practice can be defined as "the art of giving form to signs in an
expressive, harmonious, and skillful manner"

Decorative arts- these arts are also known as decorative crafts, are
artworks that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional. While the fine arts are
primarily concerned with beauty and aesthetics, the decorative arts are not only
beautiful but are useful as well. Any of those arts that are concerned with the design
and decoration of objects that are chiefly prized for their utility, rather than for their
purely aesthetic qualities.
 Furniture refers to movable objects intended to support various human
activities such as seating, storing items, eating and/or working with an item,
and sleeping. Furniture can be a product of design and can be considered a
form of decorative art. In addition to furniture's functional role, it can serve a
symbolic or religious purpose.
 Pottery - is the process and the products of forming vessels and other objects
with clay and other raw materials, which are fired at high temperatures to give
them a hard and durable form.
 Textiles have been a fundamental part of human life since the beginning of
civilization. The methods and materials used to make them have expanded
enormously, while the functions of textiles have remained the same, there are
many functions for textiles. Whether it be clothing or something decorative
for the house/shelter.
The students are expected to create their own textile art. (RUG)
