on Basic Braille Reading and Writing
Rationale REPUBLIC ACT NO. 11650, March 11, 2022
This Act shall be known as the "Instituting a Policy of
Inclusion and Services for Learners with Disabilities in
Support of Inclusive Education Act".
Also, the legal mandate mentioned under Section 3
Objective K; “To train and equip all teachers, including
child development teachers and workers, principals,
administrators, non-teaching staff of the school, sign
language interpreters, parents, guardians, and care
providers as partners in the care, development,
education, and advancement of learners with
disabilities”.

In line with this, Jose V. Yap National High School


undertakes the initiative to train teachers in the regular
class the basic braille reading and writing that is
essential in providing quality education for visually
impaired students.
Program Description This Annual School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) was
planned and proposed with the following objectives:

Terminal Learning objectives


1. To fully understand basic braille reading and
writing
2. Equip teachers with the necessary skills needed
with the checking of papers of students with
visual impairment
3. Encourage collaboration and teamwork between
regular, and specialist teachers in checking
papers and outputs of students with visual
impairment.
