VI. REFLECTION
Annotation: This lesson plan is anchored in the study of Johann Freidrich Herbart's Herbartianism. It applied
the five formal steps in teaching which are the preparation, presentation, association, generalization and
application. The main objective of this study is to aid students in their learning process, beginning from no
knowledge to complete knowledge.
In reviewing of the lesson, I used activity to kindle the interest of my students. And at the same time giving reward
to those who got the correct answers. This strategy is associated with Edward Lee Thorndike in his Operant
Conditioning Theory which is about reward system.
In developing the mastery of the lesson, I used differentiated group activity which is based from the study of Carol
Ann Tomlinson. This approach is helpful in order to allow students to learn in their own ways, at their own pace and it
increases students’ engagement. On the other hand, I used rubrics in assessing the result of the group activity that I
applied with my learners. The application of rubrics was founded by Paul Diederich.
In the evaluation part of the lesson plan, I assessed my students’ learnings through giving them written test which
is anchored to Henry Fischel who invented the examination to test the academic performance of the students.
Giving of assessment helped the students to enhance their learning and engagement on the lesson presented. And
it also, gave them an opportunity to make improvements based on the accurate result of the evaluation.
