BES, Participated in Modified City Meet 2022-

2023

Department of Education – School Division of Balanga City play a


part in Modified City Meet happened on March 2-4, 2023 in various
playing venues in the province of Bataan. This is in accordance with
DepEd Memorandum No. 5, s. 2023 or the Conduct of the 2023
Palarong Pambansa, which provides that Division Meets and Regional
Meets.

“We are delighted to hold the CLRAA once again after more than
three years as a result of the pandemic because our learners who
excel in various sports activities will once again be given the
opportunity to further improve their skills and discipline relative to
their respective sports category,” said Regional Director May Eclar.

The sports events include Archery, Arnis, Athletics, Badminton,


Baseball, Basketball, Basketball 3×3, Billiards, Boxing, Chess,
Dancesport, Football, Futsal, Gymnastics, Paragames, Sepak Takraw,
Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Volleyball,
Wrestling, and Wushu.

The participants in the City Meet are elementary, secondary and


senior high school learner’s athletes from public and private schools
for instance to show their ability and skills of chosen sport category.

Measurable sports such as athletics, swimming, and archery will


adopt the qualifying distance, time, and points set by the Palarong
Pambansa. Other sports that do not apply qualifying standards in the
selection of athletes and are not identified as team sports will
advance directly to the Palarong Pambansa culminating competitions.

The modified competition format aims to prevent the disruption


of classes and to observe minimum public health and safety protocols
as stated in DepEd Order No. 34, s. 2022, and other relevant policies
and guidelines issued.
BES, Reap Medals in Modified City Meet 2022-
2023

Balanga Elementary School is one of the school participants in City meet happened
March 2-4 in some different sports category meanwhile, some of students from the school
participated in the event to choose what sport category they need to expertise. Basketball leads in
sport category who achieved most of the champion among grade 5 and grade 6 students led by
coach Mr. Michael Ven Ariem.
Badminton brings on the champion by two excellent athletes Jeron Rheikken Cruz and
Rocelyn Flores in Double Badminton Boys, Merrylle Sapphire Atienza Ryonna and Mikkolette
Atuan takes 3rd place in Badminton double girls led by coach Mr’s Analyn Fabunan Mendiola
meanwhile Russel Conrad Calara takes 2nd place for badminton single boys led by coach Mr’s
Donna Dela Cruz.
In sport category Tennis, for elemetary boys, gold achieved by Christler Nico S.
Quindoza, silver got by Yhael Magdato and bronze got by Florenz Z. Sanchez meanwhile for
girls, silver achieved by Zen Gabrielle Q. Lima and bronze got by Sophia Anne B. San Gabriel
led by coach Mr. Bengen Ramirez. Tennis held at Talisay Covered Court.
Table Tennis takes a place for the sport category for both girls and boys. For table tennis
girls, Casey Lee T. Penaflor ranked 2nd place while Ryza Mae Orquiza Paola and Yzabella A.
Reyes takes the 3rd place led by coach Mr’s Gloria E. Navarro meanwhile Ean Juneix M. Paguio
hold the 1st place, Ezekiel D. Pablo takes the 2nd place and Calix Nathan C. Moreno and Jacob
Deandrey D. Pardo team up for 3rd place for table tennis boys led by coach Mr’s Perseveranda
Rodriguez.
For the sport category Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, 3 Silvers and 2 Golds achieved by
Mikee Angela Villaruel, 2 golds, 2 silvers and 1 bronze achieved by Maria Jhamilla Quintos and
1 gold 1 and 1 silver achieved by Rich Yam Dionaldo in the lead of coach Arlene D. Isip.
Track Event in Athletics also bags medals for both athletic boys and girls. Rainel De
Leon ran 400M set a silver medal in field event, Shotput striked bronze by Jupiter Bien Samson.
Both players led by coach Mrs. Christina Dela Torre. Coach Ginalyn Nocomora grabbed 4 gold
medals and 3 of them achieved by Xeian Kathline Ylanan for 400M, 800M and 1500M run while
another gold achieved by Ma Clarise Ruiz for 100M run.
Taekwondo kicks up in the category of sports. Neal Aleandro D. Reyes takes 1st place
Sparring Player 2 while Chelsy Lorraine S. Banzon hit in 3rd place Poomsae Individual A both
players led by coach Mr’s Ruby Anne Dinglasan.
Dance Event Category also emphasized for the contrasted in social, exhibition and
technical skills in dance movements of some BES students. In this category, both Athena Sofia
Dilig and Julian Mateo Q. Quinsay named in First Standard Dance and Second Latin dance with
the help of coach Maria Leonora E. Pantig and Mrs. Analyn D. Lugtu.
Lastly, Chess Grandmaster Axel M Buenaventura gives a strategic skill to beat opponent
to takes overall champion. He trained by coach Mr’s Leonida L. Cruz.
March 13, school principal of BES Dr Rufina E. Ramos together with all coaches
recognized the winners in the Flag Ceremony giving them certificates to generate their
achievement. These humbling achievements show how holistically Balanga Elementary School
mold students through different opportunities.

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) -- Central Luzon Regional


Athletic Association (CLRAA) Meet returns after a three-year hiatus
due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It will be held on April 24-28 in various playing venues in the region.

Department of Education (DepEd) Regional Director May Eclar said


learners who excel in various sports will once again be given the
opportunity to further improve their skills.
“The participants in the Regional Meet shall be elementary and
secondary, both junior and senior high school learners, athletes from
public and private schools who participated in the Cluster, District,
and Division Meets,” Eclar furthered.

Bataan Schools Division will host Taekwondo, Wushu, Arnis and


Volleyball while Balanga City Schools Division will provide venues for
Basketball, Basketball 3x3 and Table Tennis.

Bulacan Schools Division will organize the Tennis, Archery and


Gymnastics events while Malolos City Schools Division will be in
charge of Badminton and Wrestling.

Moreover, Nueva Ecija Schools Division handles Chess, Futsal and


Softball while Pampanga Schools Division takes care of the Sepak
Takraw events.

And lastly, Tarlac Province Schools Division was selected for Football,
Baseball and Billiards while Zambales Schools Division was chosen for
Athletics, Boxing, Swimming, Dancesport, and Paragames.

The regional athletic meet is in preparation for the Pre-National


Qualifying Meet, an additional tier before the conduct of the Palarong
Pambansa which will be held on July 29 to August 5 in Marikina City.

It aims to lessen the number of delegations, shorten duration of the


event, and lower expenses to be incurred—all without sacrificing the
level of play.

“The new level will only feature team sports such as baseball,
basketball, football, futsal, sepak takraw, football, and volleyball,”
Eclar explained.

The top two regional delegations per cluster will then advance to the
actual Palarong Pambansa event.

“The modified competition format aims to prevent the disruption of


classes and observe minimum public health and safety protocols as
stated in DepEd Order No. 34, s. 2022, and other relevant policies and
guidelines issued,” Eclar furthered.

Measurable sports such as athletics, swimming, and archery will adopt


the qualifying distance, time, and points set by the Palarong
Pambansa.

Other sports that do not apply qualifying standards in the selection of


athletes and are not identified as team sports will advance directly to
the Palarong Pambansa culminating competitions.

Aside from student-athletes from the 17 DepEd regional athletic


associations, Filipino athletes enrolled in recognized schools overseas
will also be allowed to compete in individual sports under the banner
