LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson students will be able to:
1. Use google earth to explore a geographic region of Canada
2. Identify two geographic features of their assigned region using google Earth
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT
• Computers for students
• Access to Google Earth

PREPARATION AND LOGISTICAL CONSIDERATIONS


• Ensure all students have access to a computer in class
• Be ready to accommodate students who struggle to use a computer. Possibly accommodate by
allowing certain students to partner
PROCEDURE
Introduction Time
Briefly introduce Students to the seven Canadian Geographic Regions, names and rough
locations. Should use a visual map ~1 min

Body Time
Explore each
1) Reintroduce each region’s name and location

Conclusion Time
• Students will share the two defining features of their location/geographic
region with the class ~2 min

Assessment
• Observe students as they use google earth and locate defining features
• Record the defining features students find while using Google Earth
