Statement of the Problem

This study aims to determine the socioeconomic status of families with

children with special needs in Ligao,City specifically, it seeks to answer the

following questions.

1.What are the demographic characteristics of the families with children with

special needs in terms of:

a.Number of children

b.Number of children with special needs and their medical condition

c.Average family income

d.Average family expenses

e.Sources of income

f.Highest educational attainment of the children with special needs.

2.What is the socioeconomic status of the families with children with special

needs along;

a.Education

b.Income

c.Occupation

d.Assets
3.What are the challenges encountered by families with children with special

needs along;

a.Education

b.Income

c.Occupation

d.Assets

4.What coping strategies are employed by the respondents to address the

challenges encountered?

5.What program intervention can be proposed based on the findings of the

study?
