SURVIVING AND THRIVING: A MULTI-CASE STUDY OF SECONDARY SCHOOL

TEACHERS IN TEACHING ENGLISH IN RURAL AREAS

RESEARCH QUESTIONS:

This study is guided by the following research questions,

RQ1: What are the live experiences of the teachers in teaching English language in

rural area?

IG. 1.1: How are you? How is your family? Are you living far from the school site?

IG.1.2: How is your first teaching experience in the school can you retell the

experience on this?

IG.1.3. Did you encounter some favorable experiences in teaching English? If yes

what are these?

IG.1.4. Did you encounter some challenges and difficulties in teaching English? If

yes what are these?

IG.1.5. What most unforgettable experience in teaching English?

RQ2: How do these experiences mold the ideas or life to cope with the challenges in the

English language in rural areas?

IG.2.1: Do you feel bored something in teaching English in rural areas?

IG.2.2: What are the things do to survive the teaching English in rural areas?

IG.2.3: How did you strategize yourself order to cope with the challenges that you

encounter while teaching in rural areas?


IG.2.4: Do you think you did thrive in teaching English in rural areas? If yes what is

this progress can you elaborate?

RQ3. What insight can be drawn from the teacher live experiences in teaching the

English in rural areas?

IG.3.1: What encourage you to continue teaching the English language in rural

areas despite the hardships you encounter?

IG.3.2: What can you infer/say in your teaching experience?

IG.3.3: What is your strength that you want to share to make others learn from your

stories?

IG.3.4: What are the positive and negative experience did you encounter in rural

areas?

teachers hardship and difficulties in performing their teaching job?
