In supersession of the earlier instructions issued with respect to Genome Sequencing in the
state following revised instructions are hereby issued:-

1- SMS Medical College, Jaipur shall be the nodal center for Genome Sequencing. Gen~me
Sequencing facilities are being developed in Medical College, Jodhpur also. SMS Medical
College shall also provide logistic, training and handholding support to Medical College
Jodhpur in this regard.

2- Genome Sequencing for all districts shall be done regularly in the state to ensure that any
kind of variant that occurs in the patient can .be captured in time.

3- In view of present spread of pandemic it is· decided that 20 samples per week from each
district shall be sent to SMS Medical College, Jaipur for Genome Sequencing. However.
divisional headquarter districts shall send 30 samples per week and Jaipur shall sent 50
samples per week for genome sequencing.

4- While sending samples for Genome Sequencing, it should be ensured that CT value of
sample be less than 30. All patients' details should be entered in the Excel fonnat. Samples
should be packed as per standard nonns and it should be ensured that there is no leakage
during transportation.

5- While choosing samples in districts for Genome Sequencing, patients from International
traveler, cluster with high incidence of Covid cases and patients in ICU/on oxygen beds be
given priority. However some samples of OPD and home isolation patient should also he
sent. Samples for the patients who tested positive in private labs should be also included. ·

6- For ease of transportation following week days are decided for each division for sendino0
·samples to SMS Medical College, Jaipur for Genome Sequencing.
