This document is created to ensure all POs use the same fitting standard / method to evaluate fitting for
H&M shoes.
1. Introduction
For footwear it’s most important as well as critical to ensure all criteria of fitting. Our fitting process
guideline focuses on all important criteria of shoe fitting including a simple direction on how to create
sample report. Focus criteria’s are:

3. Fitting Process
3.1. Fitting Types
There are two types of fitting.
Outdoor fitting
BO FT need:
-DS.
-Approved Last from
DS(BO fit) library.
Responsible: BO FT -Ref. sample or
previous DS.
-Previous sample
report.
PO Tech need:
-QS 5 minutes walking
QS( PO Fit) -Approved DS in designated
Responsible: PO -Approved DS Report fitting area
from BO.
-Last & puller over.
PO Tech need: 10 minutes
-SS/S. walking in
SS/S( PO Fit) -Approved QS. designated fitting
Responsible: PO -Approved QS report.
-Last & puller over in
three sizes (S,L,M) 2 minutes walking Take picture
PO Tech need: in designated & prepare
CS( PO Fit)
Responsible: PO -CS. fitting area report
Tech -Approved QS.

5. Fitting Time
The best time to fit shoes is between 10: 00 AM to 18:00 PM.
6. Fitting Area
Indoor Fitting test must conduct in a designated fitting area. Outdoor fitting must conduct outside of
office area.
7. Fitting Methodology
Fitting methodology is to standardize the fitting method to ensure all technicians use the same method.
There are five steps which recommended following by technicians while model performing a wearing
test.
1. Asking
2. Watching
3. Touching
4. Cutting
5. Compare
7.1. Asking
Technicians are recommended asking undermentioned question to model on specified steps.
7.2. Watching
It’s essential that Technician observe the wearing area of model in 360 degrees. There can be two type
of watching:
1. Static watching: It includes observing wearing area before walking & after walking
2. Dynamic watching: It includes observing wearing area during walking.
7.3. Touching
It is essential for a technician to touch by hand on 18 touching positions of foot. See below:

7.4. Measuring
It is used to guide all technicians to analyze the shoes quality / fitting in right order.
7.5. Compare
Compare means always to use previous approved or reject sample to compare to new sample to check
whether new sample is equal to previous sample and improved according to previous comments.

Basic style information – sample date, style name, supplier, fitting model, technician,
last number…

Clear Fitting/Look conclusion (approve or reject)
Clear problem descriptions
Clearly indicate what the H&M requirement is and how to correct?
Clear photos/sketches to visualize the requirement/corrections.
