1. What kind of story is The Lottery Ticket? Why?

- The story qualifies as horror fiction because a resident of the community is
chosen every year to be stoned to death by the other residents.
2. What does the short story symbolize?
- It symbolize or represents materialistic prosperity and greed. A man and a
woman think they have purchased a winning lottery ticket in this short fiction.
. Ivan and Masha are content with their lives. Although his wife enjoys
playing the lotto, Ivan does not. He starts daydreaming about all the things
he would buy with the money once he thinks they could win.
3. Who is the protagonist and antagonist of the story?
- The protagonist are Ivan and masha and the antagonist was the money
because the money could ruin their relationship. They are both into a good
relationship then suddenly because of the lottery and they expect money,
they hate each other.
4. What type of character is Ivan Dmitrictch in the story? Why?
- He is vibrant and full but changes during the narrative into a hypocrite and
avaricious individual who is presented as a very self-centered figure.
5. What happen to the story?
- They are arguing because the series number of newspaper did not match
the lottery ticket. They are both disappointed and don’t have any choice but
to continue their work.

- People have the capacity to accomplish great and noble things thanks to
money, yet a love of money can sabotage happiness.
7. What is the moral lesson of the story? Explain.
- Due to our desire for even better things, we have to let go of many
excellent things in our lives. Because of our inherent human nature, we
always strive for improvement. However, we gave up a lot of nice things that
could have brought us equal happiness and fulfillment in our pursuit of
something better. Learn to make informed decisions.

- The author's primary idea is that a person's contentment can be destroyed
by their desire of money.

- The purpose of the story, according to Anton Chekhov, is to illustrate how
the thought of possessing a lot of money may fundamentally alter a person.
10. If you win in the lottery, what does first will you do? Why?
- The first thing I will do when I win the lottery is to build a business or invest
or franchise. I won't just spend it anywhere. I want the money to grow and I
will build a house for my parents and myself and what is left, I will save for
future purposes and in case of emergency.
