A reminder to you campers that today is the last day to register and pay the camping fee of $10/person. Most of the cost is being absorbed by the church so there is no excuse not to go! Not only will this be relaxation for our physical bodies but, as we will also be celebrating our anniversary with our Inland Empire and San Gabriel sister churches, also a time for us to be fed spiritually and to fellowship with our Christian brothers and sisters. Lets get excited for this event and include it in our prayers!

The Pastors Message (continued) To focus only on material/physical prosperity is to misdirect our focus - the wrong focus that Jesus came to correct; instead He emphasizes a new (and better) focus and priority for His followers God's Kingdom and His righteousness (Matt. 6:33).

Life Christian Fellowship Inland Empire 9390 Seventh St Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730 (909) 725-4576 Worship Service: Sunday 10:00 am

Abundant living/a meaningful existence is a real experience for the followers of Jesus who daily acknowledges His Lordship and who have their priorities straight.

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

The Pastors Message

ABUNDANT LIVING JOHN 10:10
The Lord promised in John 10:10, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." Yet many Christians are not living this "fulfilled" or "abundant life". What is/are the main problem/problems here? Let me point out two main reasons this morning. One biblical/ theological, the other practical. 1. A skewed understanding of the doctrine of salvation Many Christians received Jesus into their lives only as Savior... to meet a specific need. But Jesus is never the Lord of their lives. The Bible did speak of Jesus as our "Savior"; it also speaks about "receiving Jesus"; but the Bible does not talk about receiving Jesus only as Savior. To accept Jesus is to receive Him as "Savior and Lord". Colossians 2:6 "So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him..." Romans 10:9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." To receive Jesus as Lord and Savior is to come under His Lordship... to be under His management to be under His full control... to be totally committed to Him. One cannot enjoy the blessings of salvation with a divided heart; one cannot live a fulfilled life if he/she persists in living a worldly or a sinful life. 2. A materialistic understanding of "abundant life" God does promise "shalom" (well-being). But shalom is not to be equated with riches, prosperity, or the absence of needs, trials, illness or afflictions. Rather, shalom is that grace that sustains us and enables us to enjoy God's presence, live meaningful lives, despite and in spite of these physical/material needs/afflictions. The Bible is not against prosperity per se. But it does emphasize that we should never equate life with material riches or prosperity (cf.: Matt. 6:25-34; also the book of Ecclesiastes).

The knowledge of Christ's love for us should cause us to love Him in such a way that it is demonstrated in our attitude, conduct, and commitment to serve God. Spiritual maturity is marked by spiritual knowledge being put into action. Edward Bedore
