THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION
We will be having our Thanksgiving Sunday on November 22nd. All our special occasion Sundays are always designated as evangelism days. As such, we encourage you to invite your friends and family to join us, especially those who have yet to know Jesus Christ. While the church will be providing the main fare, we do as you to please bring in drinks and desserts! Gobble gobble! A side note to the leaders that the monthly Leaders Meeting will take place after lunch so we can discuss the plans for December.

TEST AND KEEP ON TESTING 1 JOHN 4:1-6
The signs of the times indicate that the clock is ticking away toward the end prophesied about in the Bible. When the going gets tough, forsaking Christianity is a tempting option. When everything seeks to topple us down, the genuine Christian's choice is to persevere. Pressures and problems may knock us down, but they don't have to knock us out. Getting up and continuing the race brings us nearer to the finish line. We can march forward to complete victory when we draw from spiritual resources that should serve to motivate us: God's Spirit. "But you have an anointing from the Holy One... And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him" (1 John 2:20, 27). Living the Christian life is impossible but through the power of the Holy Spirit in us, the odds can be beaten. We may feel like giving up at some point in our spiritual journey, but God Himself through His Spirit will preserve us, protect us and see us through as we walk by faith so we may stand firm on the Day of Judgment. "Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy" (Jude 1:24). "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus" (Philippians 1:6). Perseverance of the saints is possible because of God's Spirit. Many false prophets representing Christ will arise in the last days, performing miracles and claiming to have visions, that even the elect will be misled. However, God's Spirit will not only make the perseverance of the saints possible. He will also give us the discernment to tell right from wrong, truth from error, the true Christ from the antichrist. Any religion that teaches other ways to heaven other than Christ, that focuses dependence on other persons, inanimate objects or rituals rather than the Living Christ actually diminishes the divinity of Jesus. Behind this is the spirit of the antichrist. But the true believers will not be led astray, because God's Spirit is at work in them.
