Instructions
General
• Determine the specified eco-labeled materials and products.
• Input the data into the calculator of M.2 Materials Eco-Labeling to determine the percentages of the eco-labeled
major construction materials and the availability fraction for minor construction materials.
• Prepare all applicable documentation.

Inputs
¤Part 1 – Major Construction Materials Inputs
• Input the descriptions of the major construction materials with eco-labeling (QM certificates). Include in the
descriptions of the name of the manufacturer of the supplied materials and products.
• Input the costs of the materials.
• Select from the pulldown menu the QM certificates of the eco-labeled major construction materials.
¤Part 2 – Minor Construction Materials Inputs
• Input the descriptions of the minor construction materials with eco-labeling (QM certificates).
• Select from the pulldown menu the QM certificates of the eco-labeled specialty materials.
• Extended List of eco-labeled materials. In case there are more than four eco-labeled minor materials, enter them in
this list to achieve incentive score.

Calculations
¤Part 1 – Major Construction Materials Calculations
• Total cost of major construction materials with eco-labeling = sum of the itemized major construction materials with
eco-labeling.
• Total cost of construction materials = sum of the sub-total costs and lump sum cost of construction materials.
• Percentage of the cost of major materials with eco-labeling = calculated value based on the total cost of major
construction materials with eco-labeling over the total cost of the materials for the development.
¤Part 2 – Minor Construction Materials Calculations
• Availability fraction = calculated value based on the QM certificate of minor construction materials.
• Total availability fraction = sum of the availability fraction of all minor construction materials.
• Availability fraction of extended list (for incentive weight) = sum of the availability fraction of incentivized minor
construction materials.
Summary Calculations
• Achieved values = results of Part 1 and Part 2 calculations.
• Maximum targets = fixed values assigned for the calculations of the percentages of the cost of major construction
materials with eco-labeling and availability fraction for minor construction materials.
• Weights = fixed values assigned to give relative importance for the calculations of cost of major construction materials
with eco-labeling and availability fraction.
• Weighted percentage cost of major construction materials with eco-labeling = calculated value based on the achieved
value, maximum target, and the assigned weight for major construction materials.
• Weighted percentage of the availability fraction = calculated value based on the achieved value, maximum target, and
the assigned weight for minor construction materials.
• (X) Indicator = sum of the percentages of cost of major materials with eco-labeling and the availability fraction of eco-
labeled materials plus incentive.

INSTRUCTIONS

MEASUREMENT
The calculator computes the percentage of the structural systems that is reused. The cost of the
required and reused structural systems are determined by project documents. The calculator uses
these costs to compute the percentage of cost savings by the reused structural systems. The
criterion is assigned a final level based on the percentage of structural elements reused out of the
total amount of required structural elements. Projects which has no existing structure receive a
default score of 0.
USER INPUT
Description of Major Structural Systems: Enter the description of the reused structural system.
Single components such as beams or columns can participate in M.4 Material Reuse criterion, but
not in this criterion.
Cost Savings (Currency Unit): Enter the cost of the new structural system replaced by the reused
one.
Total Structural Systems Value (Currency Unit): Enter the estimated costs of the structural systems
in the project. Consider the cost of new structural systems replaced by the reused ones.

GIVEN DATA
Scoring: Levels from -1 to 3 are associated with a percent of structural elements reused.

COMPUTED VALUES
Percent of Major Structural Elements Reused (%) = Sum (Cost Savings of Structural Elements
Reused) / (Total Structural systems value)
Projected Criterion Level = Based on the total weighted value earned by the project, a final level is
assigned for the criterion.

INSTRUCTIONS
MEASUREMENT
All projects will complete the Responsible Sourcing of Materials - Input Sheet to determine the percent, by cost, of materials that can be traced through
the supply chain. Applicable materials include all primary building elements.
All projects will only consider materials permanently installed in the project. To ensure the selection of socially and environmentally conscious materials
that employ responsible practices throughout the supply chain, all materials must comply with the following standards, where applicable, and should
be accounted for in the calculator to qualify as responsibly sourced.
USER INPUT
Responsibly Sourced Material : Select "Yes" if the material is responsibly sourced. Select "Partial" if certain part of the material is responsibly sourced.
Cost of Responsibly Sourced part (currency unit): If part of the material is responsibly sourced, then enter the cost of the relevant part.
REFERENCE INFORMATION
Material Type: Materials as entered in Materials - Input Sheet and as per the CSI MasterFormat 2016.
Material Cost (currency unit): Material Cost as entered in Materials - Input Sheet.
GIVEN DATA
Level: Levels of -1 to 3 are associated with where the performance indicator falls within a pre-defined range.

COMPUTED VALUES
Total Cost of Responsibly Sourced Materials =Sum(Cost of Responsibly Sourced Material)
Performance Indicator = (Total Cost of Responsibly Sourced Materials / Total Cost of Materials)
Projected Criterion Level = Based on the performance indicator value achieved by the project, a final level is assigned for the criterion.
