Online Games for Kids: Allowed or not to allowed? Title
During this pandemic, most children ease their boredom through
engaging themselves online. Introduction
One of the most argued topics today is whether to allow or not allow
children playing online games. Some parents say that it is ok for them
while other said it is risky on health and their children being addicted to Body
applications.

In conclusion, though online games offer children's entertainment and

keep them from staying at home, parents should carefully choose online

Kamela: The Kind-Hearted Child

By: Ma. Melanie L. Padohinog

Kamela is a grade 6 pupil in a small barrio. She lives a simple life with her
three siblings and their parents.
One day, as she was entering the school gate, she heard a soft cry. She
almost leaped when she stumbled upon a cute puppy. As she looked closer, she
found out that it was badly hurt. It has a wound on its left ear and fresh blood was
dripping from it.
When she was about to pick up the puppy, a group of three boys called her.
One of them said, “Kamela, never mind that puppy. Look at how disgusting it is!“
Kamela replied, “Yes, for you this puppy is dirty and smells odd. But like us,
they have feelings, too. When people hurt them, they also feel the pain. And when
somebody loves and cares for them, they also love back and care for that person.”
Kian, Kamela's classmate, timidly said, “We're very sorry, Kamela. We made
fun of the puppy. We did not realize that they also need love and care like us. Don't
worry, we will help you bring the puppy to the veterinarian so that it could be treated
and be well again.
Basic Elements of a Story includes:
Characters- Refers to people, animals or objects that talk and take part in the story.

EsP Integration:
Do you love animals? What pets do you have at home? How do you take care of your pets?

b. Guided Practice “WE DO”

Teacher says: Here is a story. Let us highlight the elements found in the story.
I will call somebody to do it.

The tale of “Haring Oko”

By Rico D. Anumbay
Once upon a time in the kingdom of Sawagandia, there lived a good looking
fish named Haring Oko. He always teased and bullied other fishes who were small,
black and ugly. He always boasted himself for he believed he was the most
charming and powerful fish in their kingdom.
Haring Oko dominated and ruled the river kingdom badly. He let all kinds of
fishes work for him; find food to be kept in his storage and left nothing for the
worker. The King was greedy and injustice.
Until one day, the river fairy knew the story about how Haring Oko ruled the
river. She was very upset and feeling sorry for the fish villagers. She called Haring
Oko and punished him for his bad behavior. She turned him into a small, black and
ugly fish.
That is why up to now you can find a black little fish named “Oko” in the creak
of Sawagan, Veruela, Agusan del Sur.

Values Integration:
If you were Haring Oko, would you do the same?

(The learners will now define the following)

What is character?
What is setting?

3. Independent Practice “YOU DO”

(Everyone will be given a piece of paper with a story and questions written on it.)
Teacher says: I have here another story and a set of questions. All you have to do is to
read, understand and write your answer after each question.

One time, the children visited their school doctor in the school clinic. The doctor
advised the children to always wear shoes. He said that the shoes will protect their feet
from getting hurt and will also protect them from getting worms into their bodies through
their feet.

Who is the character in the story?

Where does the story take place?

Health Integration:
Why do we need to always wear shoes?
