Feel free to add any additional information you wish regarding the importance of the preparation
tips.
Preparing for an interview is very important for setting the stage of your future employer. It
shows them how much you care about the upcoming opportunity to work for their company.
Here are three key concepts I am going to work very hard on preparing beforehand.
First, I will practice my interview answers.1 This is essential for building confidence in myself,
ensuring clarity, showcasing my strengths, and reducing my overall stress of the actual interview.
There is a plethora of practice interview questions on-line to practice with. I will also make sure
to come up with a difficult situation I have been in, in my career, so I can spin answers off this
topic.
Secondly, I will bring copies of my resume, a notebook and a pen.1 My resume copies will allow
me to provide my credentials and work history to interviewers and serve as a reference during
our conversations. The notebook and pen will demonstrate my preparedness and
professionalism. I will be able to write down important information or questions I have. This
will help me stay organized and engaged.
Finally, I plan to prepare smart questions for my interviewers.1 It will help demonstrate my
interest of the company and show them I did my homework and are genuinely interested in this
position. Well thought out questions can also be an opportunity to showcase my qualification
indirectly. For example, asking about specific challenges the team is facing and suggesting how
my skill set could help address those challenges.
