COURSE OVERVIEW: In this introductory course, you will be guided with how to start your
journey with XERO. Starting from activating your first trial account, all the way to producing
reports, running xero day-to-day activities, reviewing month-end accounting records, preparing
all relevant statements and having a considerable thought of the difference this makes to
bookkeeping & workflow of accounting..

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
1. Produce Xero reports
2. Run Xero day to day activities
3. Review month-end accounting records
4. Prepare all relevant statements.
5. Have a considerable thought of the difference this makes to bookkeeping &
workflow of accounting.

3.1 Discover the best way to add products and services (Inventory in xero, tracked
vs. untracked, accounting for inventory)
3.2 Set up products and services (set up inventory accounts, add inventory items)

Chapter 4. Manage supplier bills


4.1 Keep track of your incoming goods and services
4.2 Track what you owe your suppliers
4.3 Pay your suppliers on time

Chapter 5. Manage expense claims


5.1 Set up Xero expenses

ASSESSMENT:

Theoretical Exam: (2) 10 Multiple choice questions to be completed at the end of topic or
session.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:

It is important for the instructor / trainer to be notified when a student is not able to attend
class. It is the student’s responsibility to inquire about make-up work for both classroom lectures
and laboratory sessions. (last part may be modified depending on whether or not, the institution
allows make-up work )

Tardiness and/or absence from any part of a class/lab will constitute a partial absence. A
total of three partial absences will constitute a full absence. (Number of absences may be
modified depending on school rules and policies, )

For further information on the attendance policy, consult the current edition of the
student handbook.

INSTRUCTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. At the beginning of each course, the instructor will provide a course syllabus to each
student in the class.
2. The instructor will evaluate each student’s participation, assignments, assessments and
projects based on the grading criteria published in the syllabus.
3. Unannounced quizzes and special projects may be given at the instructor’s discretion.
