SCHOOL LEARNING ACTION CELL (SLAC) ON
RESEARCH WRITING

I. Rationale:
The SLAC session on RESEARCH WRITING is designed to:
Writing is essential to the completion of a research paper and hence it
helps you develop good writing skills. Writing a research paper helps you
understand the process of scientific discovery and then how to document that
because without documentation it cannot reach other people.
The conduct of School-Based Training Workshop on Research Writing
through School Learning Action Cell for the teachers of Talacogon Integrated
School is primarily to heighten and enhance the personal and professional
practice of teachers. Because it is believed that conducting Research has
been shown to have a positive consequences for the professional and
personal development of the participant, as they learn to become more
proactive and take responsibility for effecting change. Another thing is to
encourage and assist teachers to conduct research as a means of effecting
positive social and educational change in their immediate school environment.
The existence of the problems that greatly affect the academic
performance of every students in Talacogon Integrated School is the primary
reason that there is, categorically, a need for every teacher to learn and to
conduct a research.

II. Objectives:
At the end of the SLAC, participants will be able to:
1. Understand the new trends about research writing.
2. Write a research paper.
3. Write an action research.

III. Methodology:
All teachers of TALACOGON INTEGRATED SCHOOL will
attend the SLAC. Its 4 hours and a half activity with lecture, discussion
and workshop. The mode of delivery on this program is through Face
to Face.
