DORN: Yes.... But write only of what is important and eternal. You know,

I've lived a varied and discriminating life, and I'm satisfied, but if it had ever

been my lot to experience the exaltation that comes to artists in their

moments of creation, I believe I should have despised this material shell of

mine and all that pertains to it, and I'd have soared to the heights, leaving

earthly things behind me. And here's another thing. In a work of art, there

should be a clear, definite idea. You must know what you are writing for,

otherwise, if you just move along some esthetic road without a definite aim,

you'll be lost and your talent will destroy you.
