 Background of the Study

Introduction

Martha Sazon, the president and CEO of GCash, the country's leading mobile wallet, was

recently named one of Asia's Most Influential in 2022 by Tatler Asia, the leading luxury media

publication in the region. GCash claims to have 81 million active users and 2.5 million sellers

and merchants across the Philippines.GCash is a digital wallet that holds your money, plain and

simple. Each amount in the wallet has an equivalent amount of peso in real life.

Nearly all of the Philippines' main billers are now supported by GCash. You can swiftly pay

your payments thanks to the GCash ecosystem, which includes governmental organizations,

utility companies, the internet, and even insurance. However, entering your billers' information

each time you make a payment can rapidly become a hassle.

GForest is a really outstanding project from GCash that enables you to save the Philippines'

national forests by adopting trees and planting new ones. Because using GCash helps you lessen

your carbon impact, GCash rewards you with credits for green energy that you may use to plant a

new tree. You plant a virtual tree in GForest to make it more game-like, and GCash duplicates

that by planting a real tree in the Philippines.

You put your money into it, and the cash being digital makes it easy to do transactions with it,

Background of the Study

Scope and Delimitation

This study determines the importance of Gcash as the solution for financial issues of today's

consumerist society among College of Saint Adela Inc. The study is limited of 50 students

among Grade 11 and 12 students by different strands inside of the campus of College of Saint

Adela. This study will be conducted in College of Saint Adela Inc. Daang Barrio, Poblacion 1,

City of San Jose Del Monte Bulacan. The selection of the respondent is only the Senior High

School students.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

To Students- It is a significant for student to have a G-cash account. They can balance their

money and observing it by using their phone. Since some students have their mobile phones,

they can create an account to make their lives easier and more convenient.

To Parents- This study may serve as an eye opener for parents and will gain an understanding

of how Gcash can aid our financial situation and enlighten them via this study. Reduce the time

they spend on paying bills, too. They can make their payments while at home

To Teachers/ Workers- This study could assist teachers in helping students pay for things like

school expenses without creating inconvenience this is also to make an easy way for as soon as

possible payment when it comes to school event.

 Future Researcher- Future researchers will gain insight from the study's outcomes. This

research will be a useful reference for those who plan to conduct any related study, as this

research shows.

Definition of terms:

E-Wallet -stand for Electronic Wallet, a financial transaction application that runs on any

connected device.

Gcash- form of electronic money which allows customers who registered to GCash Service to

easily and conveniently send and receive cash as well as make payments electronically.

G-Forest -A feature of Gcash that enables users to plant trees in A virtual forest.
