Thesis writing is the most effective way to cultivate innovative thinking among
students. Literature retrieval and reading are the most basic guarantees for
thesis writing. The lack of these two skills will seriously hinder the smooth
development of future learning and scientific research.

This course takes thesis writing as a task-oriented, and trains students in the
Course skills of retrieving and evaluating literature, reading and using literature, and
Descriptions applies these skills to the thesis topic selection structure and the ability in the
process of logical argumentation. At the same time, students develop
awareness of following academic norms and academic ethics. Through the
study of this course, students can promote their closeness to literature and
writing, and improve the most basic academic literacy in a pleasant
atmosphere.

Instructor Information (A brief introduction)

Dr. Wenting (Monica) Zhan has been engaged in the practice, research and teaching of sustainable
construction and project management in mainland China and Hong Kong for many years. Her
esearch interests include project management, productivity measurement and improvement,
project performance evaluation, cost management and cost engineering, as well as decision
analysis and management of modular integrated construction and low-impact development, and
has hands-on experience in measuring and quantifying carbon emissions throughout the life cycle.
