Nichols College Bison women's soccer team secures emotional first victory of the year in

Hallie Linacre Memorial Game

DUDLEY MA – In an evenly-matched battle between the Bison of Nichols College and the
Rams of Framingham State University last night, the Bison clinched their first victory of the
season, defeating the Rams by a final score of 2-1. This special and emotional game for the
Bison, known as the Hallie Linacre Memorial Game, paid tribute to their fallen teammate who
was a rising Senior Captain for the Bison at the time of her passing.

Despite outshooting the Rams 15-0 in the first half, the score at halftime remained 0-0. As they
headed into the second half, Coach Mogel’s half time speech must have sparked some intensity
in the Bison, as Junior Alana Snow buried a shot into the net just 3 minutes into the second half.
The Rams soon equalized, but couldn’t hold on long enough, as Bison Junior Emily Feisthamel
later secured the game winner in the 75th minute. The Bison outshot the Rams 27-2 in the match.

This game was about more than soccer for the Bison, as they honored their friend and former
teammate with a touching tribute ceremony. “To score meant more than just a goal to me, it was
motivation and determination from the girl who never quit,” said Feisthamel about netting the
game-winner.

The Bison look to continue the winning streak when they begin conference play on Tuesday
against the Gulls of Endicott College
