ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENTS ASSIGNMENT 2 INSTRUCTIONS

NB: This is an Individual assignment and NOT a Group Assignment. In other

words, each student is expected to do their own assignment on their own and
should not work in groups.

Assume you are a Senior Alternative Investments Analyst working for the NMG
Consulting Limited (NMG). The NMG has a mandate to provide Asset Consultancy
services to the Bank of Namibia Provident Fund (BoNPF). The Investment
Committee (IC) Members for the BoNPF requested you to do a detailed report (in
a PDF format) on the Due diligence findings for the below 5 (five) Unlisted
Investment Managers in Namibia? They further requested you to provide them
with some informed recommendations for the IC’s consideration.

With the changing legislative framework in Namibia, clearly indicate which

Legislative frameworks are applicable to the below Unlisted Investment
Managers and how they’ll go about to ensure compliance. Furthermore, you are
requested to investigate how these Unlisted Investment Managers has
contributed to the Namibian GDP in the past as well as what they’ll contribute to
the GDP in the next 5 years.

Lastly you required to ranked them accordingly focusing on but not limited to the
performance, fees, type of exposure etc. In which Unlisted Investment Manager
(s) would you recommend for the BoNPF to invest more and what would be the
portfolio weights, risk & expected returns. Support your recommendations in
detail.
