OUTLINE

This explains how to download and install the Dr. ZX (Palm version) software that is compatible
with ZX-3 and ZW models (wheel loader).
Please download this service software from Global e-Service/e-Cabinet.
To search for the service software in e-Cabinet, specify the Identifier No. SY00010423/Language
(English).
The software that is downloaded from e-Cabinet contains MIC-DataViewer (Ver2.5.0.4).
Download instructions on how to use the MIC-DataViewer from the Global e-Service/MIC download
site.
This software is also compatible with models older than ZX-1.

Thoroughly read the safety section in the service manual before starting the work to ensure safe operation.
Welding work, if any, should only be done by qualified welders.

INSTRUCTIONS ON THE DR. ZX SERVICE SOFTWARE (OVERSEAS) INSTALLER

1 PRE-INSTALLATION PREPARATION

1-1. For the installation task, the administrative rights need to be released. Make sure to release the rights in advance.

1-2. Download the service software installer from e-Cabinet.


To download, enter the e-Cabinet window from the installer window.

Click Task menu search on the left side.

Enter "SY00010423" in the Identifier No. column on the upper right hand side of the information search window,
enter "English" in the Language column, and then click "Search" button.

"MIC Installer for Dealer" will be searched in the information search results window.

Click "MIC Installer for Dealer" in blue letters under the title.

Click "View" button on the lower right hand side of the detailed information window.

File-download will be displayed. Click "Save" button.

Select "Desktop" as the place to save the file.

The downloaded installer is ZIP compressed. Unzip by using the unzip tool. "MIC Installer for Dealer" holder will
be created on the desktop.

1-3. If you don't have a "Palm Desktop" or "CLIE Palm Desktop" shortcut icon on the desktop window of the PC, install
the software onto the PC by using either the CD-ROM that comes with the Palm or CLIE. Then proceed to 1-4.

1-4. If the current Dr. ZX service software version is already installed onto the Palm or CLIE and PC, start from 1- 1
below.

1-5. If the current Dr. ZX service software version is installed onto the PC only, start from 1- 2 .
1-6. If you are installing Dr. ZX for the first time, start from 2. Installation method.

1-6. If you are installing Dr. ZX for the first time, start from 2. Installation method.
1 The Palm onto which the current Dr. ZX service software application has been installed
If the downloaded Dr. data is still found on the Palm, hot sync and after backing up the data, carry out the proce-
dure as shown below.
If you don't hot sync, the downloaded data will also be deleted.
· If the current Dr. ZX service software version has been installed onto the Palm, delete it and then, reinstall the
new Dr. ZX service software.

* When the Dr. ZX service software is


installed onto the Palm, the Dr. ZX icon will
be displayed as shown to the left.

· Deletion procedure
a. Tap around the circle.

b. The menu will be displayed. Select "Delete."

c. The following window will be displayed. Choose the Dr. ZX related applications and tap "Delete."
* The applications to be deleted are those that begin with Dr. , EPVC , HMS and PZX .
(However, don't delete the security-related applications that begin with Dr, EPVC, HMS or PZX (see caution
below).)

Caution: Don't delete HMS_SecurityJ, PZX_SecurityJ, Security_Lancher, Security,


Mini_Security MIC_PASSWORD.

* "The window to the left is strictly an example," and it


does not mean that only the displayed applications
circled in red are deletable.

d. Once all the applications have been deleted, tap "Done" and return to
the Palm menu window.

· If the Dr. ZX icon is no longer found on the Palm menu window, it means that the installation preparation has been
completed.

2 If the existing Dr. ZX service software has already been installed onto the PC, carry out the following.
2 -1. Right-click the lower left hand side of the PC (start) to refer to Explorer ~ Program files.
If "C:¥Program Files¥HitachiMonitoringSystem¥HMS_Conduit" exists, carry out the following.

Run all files in the "C:¥Program Files¥HitachiMonitoringSystem¥HMS_Conduit¥installer" folder that are


either titled "uninstall.exe" or begin with "un" as "un*****.exe."

If the following are not found, proceed to 2 -2.

2 -2. Right-click the lower left hand side of the PC (start) to refer to the Explorer ~ Program files.
If "C:¥Program Files¥MachineInformationCenter¥Palm" is found, implement the following, delete
the program and proceed to 2. Installation method.

a. In the "Add/Remove Programs" window in "Start → Setting → Control Panel," select


"Machine Information Center for Dealer."

If the following cannot be found, proceed to 2 -3.

b. The next task depends on what support information version you have. Click "Click here for support information"
circled in red to confirm the version.

c. Confirm the support information version. If this version is 2.05.0001, carry out the following (1) and (2) and
proceed to "d."
For all other versions, proceed to "d."

(1) Double-click "DataBackUp1.exe" in the installer folder that was downloaded from the server.

* Double-click "DataBackUp1.exe" to display the following window. If the window closes, it means that the action
has been completed.

(2) Double-click "DataBackUp2.exe" that is in the same folder as (1).


Caution: Even when you double-click, the result will not be displayed on the window. However, the
task has been completed.

d. Click "Change/Remove."

e. The InstallShield Wizard will start up. Choose "Remove" and click "Next."

f. The file removal confirmation window will be displayed. Click "OK."

g. Click "Finish." This completes the un-installation.

2 -3. If there is no item, "Machine Information Center for Dealer" in the "Add/Remove" window, run all files that
are either titled "uninstall.exe" or begin with "un" as "un*****.exe" in the
"C:¥Program Files¥MachineInformationCener¥Palm¥Installer" folder, and manually delete the
folders as shown below.

(Right-click the folder (Palm) to delete. Delete all the folders.)

2 INSTALLATION METHOD

1 Double-click "Autorun.exe" in the downloaded installer folder. The following window will be displayed. Choose the
language for the installer menu.

2 The following menu will be displayed. Click "Install Software."

3 The following dialog will be displayed. Select the language of the application to be installed and click "OK."

5 The following window will be displayed. Click "Next."

6 Installation will start.

7 When the following window is displayed, click "Finish."

8 The following dialog will be displayed. Implement MICSetup.

9 The following dialog will be displayed. Caution: In the event the dialog is not displayed in 9 and
instead, the following window is displayed, click "Exit."
Then, dialog 9 will be displayed.

10 Choose the Palm user name.

11 Choose "Dr. ZX (4pin or Mining Cable" and click "Next."

* There may only be one choice in the selection range as


shown to the left, or there may be two choices. For
both, choose "Dr. ZX (4pin or Mining Cable)."

12 The following dialog will be displayed. Click "OK."

13 Click "Exit" and finish the Installer.

* If "Exit" is chosen for 9 , this window will not be


displayed.

14 Hot sync to Palm.

15 When the following dialog is displayed, enter the "office code," "name number" and "remarks" successively as
shown in the example and press "Register." (This completes the task.)
