TASK 3: PERSONAL JOURNALING VALUE

REFLECTION

The presenters provided us with a very informative and well-explained concept of School

Personnel. They also presented the duties and responsibilities as well as their rights and benefits.

What I've learned as a teacher is that Non-Teaching personnel are very important. The focus

of school improvement should not be limited to thinking about the teachers. Non-teaching personnel

should be regarded as the most valuable resource in schools. Non-teaching personnel such as

administrative officers, bookkeepers, custodians, registrars, guidance counselors, security

personnel, and utility personnel must be recognized because they play important roles in the

educational system. They are an essential component of the educational system, and their services

are essential in the quest to improve educational quality. What I also learned is that janitors, like

students and other stakeholders, deserve respect and must be treated as such. The school's goals

and objectives will be realized through collaborative efforts ranging from janitors to administrative

positions.

Non-teaching personnel also need development support for them to grow and be able to

deliver better services to the educational system. Thus, the school as well as DepEd should also

provide trainings to the non-teaching personnel to develop their skills and inculcate in them the high

degree of professionalism and integrity.

HOW AM I GOING TO APPLY WHAT I LEARNED TO THE STAKE HOLDERS?

It is essential for a teacher and future administrator to understand our school

personnel's rights, duties, and responsibilities. Knowing what their roles entail makes my job

easier. What will I do with what I've learned in relation to the stakeholders?

If I become principal, one of my top priorities will be professional development for both

teachers and non-teaching staff. I want them to improve their skills in their specific roles so

that the institution's goals and objectives can be met. I want them to have the knowledge and

character to carry out their duties and responsibilities competently. With these, they can

produce high-quality work and contribute to the institution's educational quality.

Competent school personnel can have a positive impact on stakeholders such as

students, resulting in a positive and healthy environment that promotes student learning.

They are also one of the reasons why a school produces competent and skilled students who

are prepared for life in the real world.
