be contained within the report. There are two tasks for the whole assignment. There are four learning
outcomes and each learning outcome has associated assessment criteria that must be achieved. The
report and essay should be submitted as one document

penalised for exceeding the total word limit.

Assignment Brief and Guidance:
Introduction
Virgin Media is part of Liberty Global Group plc, based in the United Kingdom, with
headquarters at Bartley Wood Business Park, in Hampshire. Virgin Media has a portfolio of
different products, such as Broadband Landline and Mobile, Digital Television and others. This
assignment is on organisational behaviour, seeking to build an organisational culture that is
dynamic to accommodate teamwork in Virgin Media. This assignment seeks to explore the
influence of culture at Virgin Media with the politics and power play within the organisation. The
aim of this report is to identify, analyse and evaluate the impact that culture has on teamwork
and effective interactions within Virgin Media. This assignment seeks to explore both intrinsic
and extrinsic motivations at Virgin Media. This will enable learners looking at different factors
regarding politics, power play and leadership within the organisation by reviewing the
organisational structure and how it can support effective communication, teamwork, and to
achieving stakeholders’ expectation at Virgin Media.

Scenario
You are employed as the Assistant Customer Services Manager at one of the operating
base nearest to you. You have been asked by your Customer Services Manager to investigate
and present a report to him within fourteen days prior to the Management meeting scheduled on
the 10th of June 2021. The report is to review the impact of the organisational culture, its politics
and power to the individuals and teams within the Customer Services Department and how staff
can be motivated to achieve both customer satisfaction and meeting the stakeholders’
expectation. You are required to apply relevant and appropriate theories, frameworks and
models to support your report as below:

Part One
To present effective report, you are required to analyse the influence of culture, politics and
power on the behaviour of the Virgin Media workforce, and evaluate how to motivate individuals
and teams within Virgin Media to achieve a goal as follows:

 Analyse how Virgin Media’s organisational culture, politics and the power influence
individual and team behaviour and performance.
 Your report should critically analyse how the culture, politics and power of Virgin
Media can influence individual and team behaviour and performance within the
organisation.
 Evaluate how content and process theories of motivation and motivational techniques
enable effective achievement of goals of Virgin Media as a business organisation.
 Your report is required to critically evaluate how to influence the behaviour of others
through the effective application of behavioural motivational theories, concepts and
models.
 Within Virgin Media, you are required to critically evaluate the relationship between
culture, politics, power and motivation that enables teams and organisations to
succeed providing justified recommendations.
