SanDiLea

Genre: Pop/Jazz/RnB in Acoustic

SanDiLea is composed of Sandy David on lead vocals, Edil Luyon

on acoustic guitar and vocals and, Eleanore Floresca on K-Hon,
percussions and vocals. Together, they withstand all the trials that
come in the band’s way in this rich yet, ironically, struggling Pinoy
music industry. Band mates have come and gone, yet, these three
have been harmoniously bonded by a common passion for music. Now,
with the sincere and generous help of Mr. Keith Martin as their producer,
they share their passion with you as they serenade you with creatively
unique, spontaneous harmony and instantly captivate you with their
contagious musical high through their own compositions. They believe
that, as musicians, it brings great fulfillment to be able to contribute to
Filipino written music. Having composed their own songs, they are
proud have their songs labeled as real Original Pilipino Music.
SanDiLea’s music is always beautiful because it comes from the
heart—a place where malice and judgment is abandoned and kindness,

purity and sincerity prevails. This is how their music should be
described—kind, pure, warm and sincere.

Bound by the Beat – Rising Filipino band SanDiLea records first album
By Jade Ceres Dolor

MANILA – From RJ and the Riots of the ‘60s, the Juan de la Cruz band of the
‘70s, the Dawn of the ‘80s, and Side A of the ‘90s, every generation has had its
dominant group known for their Original Pilipino Music. Now comes a trio of young
musicians who could be this decade’s new OPM champion.
Sandy David, Edil Luyon and Eleanore Floresca are SanDiLea, a Filipino group
set to take the radio waves by storm. With their debut album being produced by
music sensation Keith Martin, what band can ask for more?
Dabbling into a little bit of everything, they consider themselves belonging to
a number of genres including pop, jazz and acoustic RnB. The young musician-
composers describe their music as “kind, pure, warm and sincere.”
Each member of the trio comes from different musical backgrounds that allow
them to contribute something special to the band.
Lead vocalist David is a Computer Science graduate of AMA with musical
influences ranging from classical, to pop, jazz and ballads. The 23-year old was a
finalist for ABS-CBN’s May batch of Star In A Million.
Floresca, on K-Hon, percussions and vocals, is an AB Philippines Studies major
in Mass Media from De La Salle University. The 21-year old has performed with MIC
for two music videos on MTV. She specializes in classical, rock, alternative,
Broadway and jazz music.
Acoustic guitarist and vocalist Luyon, 23, on the other hand, is into RnB,
classical, neosoul, funk and jazz music. He graduated with a degree in music, major
in guitar, from St. Scholastica’s College.
Although relative new to musicbiz, they have had their share of the spotlight
performing in high-profile places such as Café Lupe, club Intramuros, Dencio’s Bar
and Grill, Ratsky’s, Merk’s, Shangri-La Hotel, Manila Polo Club, Mandarin Oriental
Hotel and Westin Philippine Plaza. They’ve also performed on-air with local band
Thor and have had TV exposure at Breakfast (Studio 23).
“All This Time,” “Fly High,” “Forever With You,” “Perfect Time and Perfect
Places,” “The First Time,” and “Slowly but Surely” are songs titles composed by
Luyon. Four of these will be included in their first CD.

Their insatiable pride in being Filipino has him boasting that, “it brings us
great fulfillment to be able to contribute to Filipino written music. We are proud to
have our songs labeled as Original Pilipino Music.”
