Tibialis Anterior muscle

The Tibialis Anterior is a long, spindle-shaped muscle that runs from the upper two-thirds of
the tibia (shinbone) down to the medial cuneiform and base of the first metatarsal bone in
the foot.

Tibialis anterior muscles originate from many locations:

Deep surface of the fascia.
Anterior surface of the interosseous membrane
Lateral tibial condyle
Anterior intermuscular septum
The distal portion of the tibia is where the tibialis anterior

tendon starts. It passes along the base of the first
metatarsal and the anterior ankle before inserting vertically into the medial
cuneiform of the foot. It is the ankle and foot's most medial tendon.

The anterior tibial artery supplies the muscle proximally,

while the medial tarsal arteries, branches of the dorsalis
pedis artery, supply the tendon distally. It passes from the posterior
popliteal fossa to the anterior leg, supplying the anterior compartment Interesting Facts
