Good day everyone! Today, we are going to talk about Heat &Temperature.

First, what is heat? It is the transfer of kinetic energy from one medium or object to another ,
or from an energy source to a medium or object. Such energytransfer can occur in three
ways. Radiation, conduction and convection.
Meanwhile, temperature is a measure of how hot or cold something is.Temperature
describes the average kinetic energy of molecules within a material or system and is
measured in Celsius (°C), Kelvin(K), Fahrenheit (°F), or Rankine (R).
Celsius – many of you might already know this or you’re familiar with it. This is a scale for
measuring in which water freezes at 0 degrees and boils at 100 degrees. This was invented
in 1742 by the Swedish astronomer Anders Celsius.
Next is Fahrenheit - Refers to or has a temperature scale on which the boiling point of water
is 212 degrees above zero and the freezing point is 32 degrees above zero.
On the other hand, Rankine scale is pertaining to an absolute temperature scale. This is still
being used in engineering systems where heat computations
Last but not the least, Kelvin - base unit of thermodynamic temperature measurement in the
International System of Units.
Although, why is Heat and Temperature is important or why do we need to learn about it?
Heat and temperature are important concepts for each of us, every day. How we dress in the
morning depends on whether the day is hot or cold, and most of what we do requires energy
that ultimately comes from the Sun.
Before we end this lesson let me give an example first. The temperature of a cup of coffee
may feel hot if you put your hand around it. Another example is when you have a high fever
and remember when we always use a thermometer to check the temperature of our body.
Sometimes, the degrees is 37 Celsius and above.
So now, we should end this lesson and I hope that you all learned something new today.
This is Krizzylle Domingo, Thank you and Goodbye.
