To whomever it may concern,

My name is Kaylee Eyckelhoff and I am in my third year of math education at the

University of Lethbridge. I am both honored and excited to be a part of your classroom this fall. I

have a passion for learning and helping others and I am looking forward to learning from you in

the coming months.

I grew up in High River Alberta where I went to École Secondaire Highwood High

School. Straight out of high school I accepted an athletic scholarship to attend Missouri Valley

College to play lacrosse and volleyball in Marshall Missouri. I studied there for three semesters

and loved it but I felt as though I was not being challenged academically. That is when I applied

for the University of Lethbridge and decided to come back to Alberta to pursue my education

degree.

I have always wanted to teach, even from a very young age. I grew up playing

competitive sports and encountered many different coaches and managers who showed me what

it means to be both caring and supportive while still holding a position of authority. It is because

of them that I know I want to teach and it is because of my highschool math teacher that I know I

want to teach math. This teacher pushed me, and all my classmates, to do better than we ever

thought we could. It is this level of confidence that I hope to learn how to instill in my students

one day.

Outside of the classroom I am someone who loves to cook and enjoys learning new

things. I enjoy busy work such as painting by numbers and I also LOVE the show Greys

Anatomy. I have a bubbly and outgoing personality which means I also enjoy spending time with

my friends and family.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and learn a little bit about me. I am

looking forward to meeting you and I am very grateful for the opportunity to learn from you.

See you soon,

Kaylee Eyckelhoff
